Mahindra Thar facelift to arrive later this month with new styling and features. Vision.S will be a new sub-4-metre petrol and diesel SUV. BE 07 electric SUV could offer more than 650 km of claimed range.
Mahindra is preparing to expand its SUV lineup with several new models and updates. The company is expected to launch the updated Thar soon, followed by two new SUVs by early 2027. The upcoming range will include petrol and diesel models as well as a new electric SUV.
1. Mahindra Thar Facelift
The Mahindra Thar is set to receive its first major facelift later this month. The current-generation Thar was launched in August 2020, and the updated model will get changes to its exterior design and features. Mahindra has already released a teaser of the facelifted Thar. The front design will take inspiration from the larger Thar Roxx, but the two models will not look exactly the same.
The updated SUV is expected to get a new radiator grille with vertical slots and a honeycomb mesh pattern. The grille surround and round headlamps will also be redesigned. The Mahindra wordmark is expected to face upwards instead of forwards, as seen on the current Thar.
The headlamps could also get LED low- and high-beam units along with C-shaped LED daytime running lights. The Thar facelift could also gain features such as passive keyless entry, push-button start and a wireless smartphone charger. However, the existing engine and transmission options are expected to continue.

2. Mahindra Vision.S
The second upcoming SUV will be the production version of the Vision.S concept, which was showcased in August 2025. It is expected to arrive in January 2027. The Vision.S will be a new sub-4-metre SUV based on Mahindra's nu_IQ monocoque platform. It is being developed to offer the road comfort and driving dynamics of the XUV 3XO while retaining a stronger SUV character.
The production version is expected to stay close to the concept in terms of its exterior and interior design. At launch, the Vision.S is expected to be offered with petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine could be a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit in MPFI and GDI versions, while the diesel engine could be a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit. Transmission options are likely to include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic units. An all-wheel-drive system is not expected.
3. Mahindra BE 07 Electric SUV
Mahindra will also add a new electric SUV with the production version of the BE.07 concept. It is expected to launch in early 2027 and will compete in the midsize electric SUV segment. The BE 07 is expected to measure around 4.6 metres long, 1.9 metres wide and 1.7 metres tall. It is likely to be offered in three variants, all using a single electric motor and rear-wheel-drive setup.
The entry-level version could get a 59 kWh LFP battery paired with a 228 hp motor producing 360 Nm. The mid-spec version could use a 70 kWh LFP battery with a 241 hp motor and 360 Nm. The top variant is expected to feature a 79 kWh LFP battery and a 282 hp motor producing 360 Nm. This version could offer a claimed range of more than 650 km on a single charge.
