The new 7-seater MPV is locally developed at Renault’s Chennai based manufacturing facility, and carry a high-level of local components. Moreover, it is essentially the re-badged Renault Triber with Nissan’s visual identity. The new Gravite shares the features with Triber MPV. It comes with a dual-tone interior cabin with central console accommodating an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 7-inch digital instrument console. In terms of features, the MPV gets push-button start/stop, wireless phone charger, manual air conditioning, dashcam, multi-functional steering wheel and others.

The Nissan Gravite offers 30 standard safety features, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Rear Parking Sensors, ISOFIX Mounts, Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks, Seat Belt Reminders and others. The higher variants also get rearview camera, front parking sensors, rear wiper and defogger. 

Engine Specifications

The new Nissan Gravite is powered by a tried & tested 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 72 PS and 96Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).

Nissan Gravite Mileage

The Gravite petrol manual version is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 19.3kmpl, while the AMT version delivers 19.6 kmpl. The company hasn’t released the CNG version’s fuel efficiency, as it comes with CNG option as a retrofitment.

Dimensions and Boot Space

The Nissan Gravite measures 3,987mm in length, 1,734mm in width and 1,643mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,636mm. The 7-seater MPV offers a ground clearance of 182mm, which is more than sufficient to tackle Indian road conditions. With all three-rows in position, the Gravite offers a limited boot space of 84-litres. The boot space can be extended to 625-litres by completely removing the third-row seat. 

Competition

The new Nissan Gravite is a sub-4 meter low-cost MPV, and directly rivals the Renault Triber. It also come as a practical replacement for the Maruti Wagon R.
