Tata Aeris Could be the Name of Tigor Facelift; Launch on September 25

Tata Aeris sub-4 meter sedan launching on September 25 Likely to get a 1.2L NA petrol and a CNG fuel option

Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Tigor facelift in the country during festive season, in the last week of September 2026. The small sedan is claimed to be renamed as the Tata Aeris, and will replace the Tigor in Tata's lineup. Similar to the Tiago.ev, the homegrown automaker will also introduce an all-electric Aeris.ev.

The Tata Aeris is expected to share the design cues from the Tiago facelift, which was launched earlier this year. It will have an all-new front fascia, featuring a slimmer grille, a new aggressive-looking bumper and low-set fog lamps. The sedan is likely to get a full LED lighting setup with headlamps coming with integrated LED daytime running lamps.

Similar to the Tata Tigor, the Aeris will carry the notchback styling instead of a conventional three-box sedan style. It is expected to feature a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the sedan is expected to get a new tailgate and a connected LED tail-lamp setup. It will have a sharper bumper with vertical reflectors and AERIS Wordmark completing the look.

The homegrown automaker is aiming to deliver a premium cabin experience to its perspective customers. The Aeris will come with new premium materials, textures and finishes. The dashboard design will be similar to the one offered with the Tata Tiago, featuring two free-standing screens and horizontal design elements; however, it will have a different colour scheme.

It is expected to get features similar to the one offered with the Tiago. The Tata Aeris could get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument console, cruise control, a 360-degree surround view camera, automatic climate control and wireless phone charging. For safety and security, the Tigor facelift or AERIS will get the same 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. In petrol mode, the engine produces 86 hp and 113 Nm. In CNG mode, the power and torque output drops to 76 hp and 97 Nm, respectively.
