The Tigor EV also gets variable regenerative braking. Level 0 has no regen while Level 3 has the max regeneration. This helps in recharging the batteries during start-stop traffic or going downhill for instance. Other new features include a tyre pressure monitoring system and cruise control while there are new smartwatch connectivity features as well.
Tata has also added two new variants to the Tigor EV’s line-up. The XT replaces the XM and gets features like steering-mounted controls and a 7-inch infotainment system. The XZ+ model adds cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps to the feature list. While another new top end XZ+ Lux further adds a dual-tone roof, leatherette upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The Tigor EV comes with a single 26 kWh battery pack option. It powers a front-mounted electric motor that makes 75 bhp and 170 Nm of peak power and torque figures. A more efficient cycle helps Tata further increase the range of the battery from 300 kilometres to the 315 kilometres.
