Respite for Indian customers as Tata Motors launches the Nexon EV Max electric SUV in India.
Ending speculations, Tata Motors has launched the Nexon EV Max in India offering more power, range and tech. Available in two variants, the electric SUV’s price starts at Rs 17.74 lakh (ex-showroom) and extends to Rs 19.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The new SUV will be sold alongside the old model, providing options for EV adaptors. Here is a look at the new SUV and its features:
Tata Nexon EV Max Variant Wise Pricing:
Tata Nexon EV Max is available in two variants, namely XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. The price of the range starts at Rs 17.74 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and extends to Rs 19.24 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-of-the line trim. The new model demands a premium of Rs 50,000 over the current top-of-the line variant. The variant wise price is attached below as reference:
Tata Nexon EV Max Powertrain Updates:
The most significant change in the new model is to its powertrain. This includes a larger 40.5 kWh battery pack and a more powerful motor that produces a maximum power output of 143 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The larger battery pack gives the Nexon EV Max an ARAI certified range of 437 kms. Tata Motors engineers have made tweaks to the chassis to maintain the boot space at 350 litres despite accommodating a larger battery pack.
Tata Nexon EV Max Charging Tech:
Currently, the Nexon EV is available with a standard 3.3 kWh portable wall charger that takes approximately 10-12 hours to charge its 30-kWh battery to full. But the homegrown carmaker is providing the long-range Nexon EV Max with a choice of two charging options. The first is the same 3.3 kWh charger which will be available as standard, with the four-wheeler and takes 15-16 hours to charge the vehicle to full. While the other will be a more powerful 7.2 kWh charger that will reduce the charging time to around 6 hours. The fast charger can be brought at an additional amount of Rs 50,000 from any Tata Motors authorized dealer.
Tata Nexon EV Max Exterior and Interior Upgrades:
On the outside, the Nexon EV Max gets a new five-spoke design for the alloy wheels and a rear disk brake for better-stopping power. The car sports a similar design to the existing model except for these upgrades.
Moving to the inside, the Nexon EV Max receives some much-needed updates to the cabin that will enhance the feel-good factor of the vehicle. These include an illuminated jewelled gear knob with park mode, electric parking brake with auto-hold function, selectable regenerative braking with 4 modes, air purifier, wireless charging, Hill Hold and Hill Descent Assist, ESP and ventilated front seats. Other standard equipment like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected-car tech, an electric sunroof, a semi-digital instrument cluster, dual front airbags and a rear parking camera are carried over from the existing model.
Tata Nexon EV Max Colour Options:
Tata Motors is offering the Nexon EV Max with a signature Intensi-Teal colour, in addition to the Daytona Grey and Pristine White paint shades.
