Mahindra has finally revealed the much-anticipated Vision T concept on the occasion of Independence Day at its Freedom NU event. Adding to it, the company has also revealed the Vision S, Vision SXT and Vision X concepts. The Mahindra Vision T concept is basically the evolved version of the Thar.e concept that debuted in August 2023.
The new model looks more evolved with several production-like design elements; however, it is still in the concept stage. We expect the production-ready Mahindra Vision T based Thar electric and ICE versions will be launched sometime in 2027.

The Vision T concept belongs to the Thar Family, and shares several signature Thar-like styling elements. Similar to the Mahindra Thar Roxx, the concept comes with a typical Mahindra split front grille with horizontal slats, flared wheel arches, a tail-gate mounted spare wheel and bonnet latches.
The front headlamps come with central squarish LED unit, which are complemented by four LED daytime running lamps. Similarly, the rear also gets LED tail-lights. The Thar.e concept had blanked-off front grille, but this one has a traditional Mahindra grille design.

The off-roader design elements are clearly visible, as the Vision T has off-road spec bumpers with a two hook at the front. It retains an upright and boxy profile, and a high ground clearance. The squarish flared wheel arches houses large all terrain tyres.
The Vision T comes with a luggage mounting rack on the rear quarter glass area, roof carriers and exposed door hinges. The new SUV will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV, targeting both urban and adventure lovers.
As the Vision T is a concept model, the cabin retains the tech-loaded and futuristic layout. The interiors shares similarities with the Thar.e concept, but in a more evolved fashion. It features a large free-standing digital instrument console, and a large central touchscreen infotainment unit . Another upgrade is the availability of physical buttons on the centre console.
The Vision T comes with a new three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls. This lifestyle SUV has the minimalistic design for the dashboard with clean surfaces and hard plastic. The SUV also gets a panoramic sunroof.

The new Mahindra Vision T based lifestyle SUV will be based on the brand’s all-new NU_IQ architecture. This modular platform is compatible with SUVs measuring between 3990mm and 4320mm. This SUV has a wheelbase of 2665mm and is claimed to offer segment-leading interior space. Its wheelbase is even bigger than many mid-sized SUVs, including Hyundai Creta that rides on 2610mm long wheelbase.
The Vision T based model will be an all-electric SUV with part sharing with latest Mahindra Born electric SUVs including the BE 6 and XEV 9e. The scalable platform is compatible with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
In an official statement, Mahindra claims that the SUVs based on the NU_IQ platform will be compatible with off-road credentials. In fact, this platform based SUVs will have an approach, departure and breaker angles of up to 28 degrees, 34.9 degrees and 28.2 degrees, respectively.
