Taking its electric bandwagon forward, Tata Motors has launched its third electrified ICE product in the country. Available at an introductory offer price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tiago EV is now the cheapest electric car available in the country.
Catering to the needs of customers and developing on the feedback received, Tata Motors is offering the Tiago EV with two battery pack options. The first is 19.2 kWh unit that offers a claimed range of 250 kilometres and is suitable for ones who recharge frequently. The other is the larger 24 kWh option that returns a claimed range of 315 kilometres and is suitable for ones who love to take their EVs on to the highway. Powered by Tata’s famed ZipTron technology, the battery pack and motor are IP67 rated for dust and water protection.
While power and torque figures were not revealed, the car get a brisk performance, that propels the car from 0-60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds.
For added convenience, the company is offering a choice of four charging option. The first is the 15 Ampere home charging, next it’s the faster the 3.3 kW portable and 7.2 kW AC home charging option. The last is the DC fast charger that supports 10-80 percent charge in under 57 minutes.

In terms of equipment on board, the Tiago EV will come provided with features not found car from the same segment or a segment above. Equipped with Z-Connect telematics with 30+ smart features like remote start/stop, geo-fencing, smartwatch connectivity and more as standard. The Tiago EV also gets an 8-speaker Harman infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rain sensing wipers, auto headlamp, auto A/C and more.
In addition, the car is also provided with two driving modes, City and Sport, along with 4 regeneration settings in each mode.
As the cheapest electric car available in the market, Tata Tiago EV is priced at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The four-wheeler is offered in 4 variants with two charging options.

Currently the introductory prices are reserved to the first 10,000 units of which 2000 are reserved to current Nexon EV and Tigor EV customers. Bookings for the EV will start on 10th October 2022, with deliveries set to start from January 2023.
