Production Ready Tata Curvv: What You Need to Know?

One of the most fascinating Tata cars, the Curvv coupe SUV is the current talk of the town. From showcasing its concept version at Auto Expo 2023, the automaker recently unveiled its production-ready model at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. Usually, when the car goes into production, it loses its charm and styling cues, featured in concept form. However, this is not the case with the Tata Curvv. Its production-ready model is quite similar to its concept form in terms of exterior design. Recently, the company further revealed the interior details of the coupe, which looks almost identical to the Tata Nexon Facelift. Let's see what we need to know more about the vehicle ahead of its official launch in mid-2024. Tata Curvv: Exterior Design At first glance, Tata Curvv appears largely unchanged from the concept version. However, the updated coupe incorporates several design enhancements. These include LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and a lightbar inspired by Tata's latest design language as seen in models like the Nexon Facelift, Punch, Safari, and Harrier. Updates extend to the front grille, headlight units, and bumper. The bumper itself provides repositioned air vents and an air intake towards the lower end. From the side, the production model boasts fresh additions such as new alloy wheel designs, larger wheel arches with black claddings, and seamlessly integrated door handles. Rear modifications include alterations to the connected LED taillights. Tata Curvv: Interior Layout and Features As mentioned earlier, the interior of the Curvv mirrors the contemporary design showcased in the latest Tata Nexon model. With a layered dashboard layout, it showcases a prominent 10.25-inch touchscreen at the centre, accompanied by a stylish 2-spoke steering wheel. Expect more features to be included such as a touch-based climate control module and a sunroof to elevate comfort and convenience levels. Tata Curvv: Powertrain Options The Curvv is set to impress customers with multiple powertrain options; petrol, diesel, and electric. The one that was showcased recently at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 was the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. This unit is said to deliver a power output of 113 bhp with 260 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty here will be taken care of by a 6-speed manual gearbox. Tata Curvv: Launch Date, Price, and Rivals As confirmed by Tata Motors, the Curvv EV will arrive first in the market. Subsequently, the diesel-powered variant is expected to follow within 3 to 4 months, possibly around Diwali this year. Finally, the petrol version will round off the lineup, completing the trio of offerings from the automobile manufacturer. As for the pricing, the Curvv coupe could fall in the range of Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about the competitors, it will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara when introduced in India. Read Also: Upcoming BYD Cars in India

Tata Motors sold nearly 60,000 electric cars in 2023, with the Nexon EV being its bestseller in the segment. Though there have been multiple images and design leaks of the Curvv EV doing rounds on the internet, Tata has shed some light on the interior bits of the upcoming electric SUV. Tata Curvv EV: Interior Drawing cues from the Nexon EV, the Curvv EV will feature a resolutely modern and uncluttered design, merging state-of-the-art onboard technologies. Reportedly, there’s a 12.3-inch touchscreen, touch-enabled climate control panel and large panoramic sunroof connecting the roofline with the rear spoiler, helping it to maintain its SUV coupe silhouette in line with the brand’s philosophy of #DifferentbyDesign.  Tata Curvv EV: Powertrain Based on Tata’s Gen2 platform, the electric five-seater is expected to deliver a range of up to 500 kilometres. The platform is expected to be high on safety and score high once it's sent for GNCAP testing, just like its siblings. Its motor and battery specifications are still under wraps.
