JSW Motors Jetour T2

JSW Motors Limited and Chery International (China’s largest car exporter) have announced a partnership to commence operations in the Indian market. The Jetour T2 will be the first model launched under this joint venture, and it will carry JSW branding instead of Jetour. The carmaker’s upcoming greenfield manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra will serve as the assembly hub for the SUV.

Jetour T2 Launch Date

The Jetour T2 SUV is scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2026, possibly around Diwali season. However, it’s important to note that component imports from China have a slow approval process, which could lead to delays in its launch timeline.

Jetour Expected Price in India

JSW Motors is targeting to a price range of ₹18.00 Lakhs*  lakh - ₹25.00 Lakhs* lakh for its upcoming SUV.

Key Features

The official teaser reveals the SUV’s silhouette, which appears similar to the China-spec Jetour T2. It will feature a pronounced front bumper, horizontal LED headlight strips, pixel-shaped LED fog lamps, and protruding squarish wheel arches. The India-spec JWS SUV might receive a few market-specific changes to differentiate it from the original Jetour model.

Dimensionally, the T2 measures 4,785mm in length, 2006mm in width and 1,880mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,800mm. The SUV offers a ground clearance of around 205mm to 220mm, and available in a 5-seat configuration.

The India-bound model is likely to retain similar interior layout and feature list as the globally available Jetour T2. The SUV features a massive a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.

Other features include a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, a wireless phone charger for the front passengers, automatic climate control, hill start and hill descent assists, a 360-degree camera, an ADAS suite and more.

Engine Specifications

Globally, the Jetour T2 is offered with two powertrain options - plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and electric (EV). In India, the SUV is expected to come only with the PHEV powertrain, which consists of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 26.7kWh battery pack. The petrol motor alone delivers power worth 154bhp and 220Nm of torque. The SUV lineup can be had with either an electric motor with FWD setup or a dual-motor AWD layout. It offers a claimed electric-only range of 139km (NEDC cycle).

Competition

Once launched, the Jetour T2-based SUV will face challenge from the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and the Tata Safari.
