JSW Motors to launch Jetour T2 PHEV by January 2026 Brand's official debut by Diwali 2026 JSW aims 120 dealer partners and 150 touchpoints by April 2027
JSW Motors is all set to mark the beginning of its independent journey as the automobile brand in India’s passenger vehicle market. The company will start with a new-energy portfolio and plans to build its retail footprint. If media reports are to be believed, JSW is targeting 120 dealer partners and 150 touchpoint by April 2027. In fact, JSW Motors has already appointed 70 dealer principals across 51 cities with 89 touchpoints.
JSW Motors will officially make its brand launch around Diwali, and its first product is expected to be launched in January 2027. The company is planning to launch 4 products by October 2027. All these four models will come with a range of new-energy powertrain technologies.
The report claims that the homegrown automaker’s portfolio is likely to cover new energy vehicles priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 50 lakh. The company’s focus will be on new-energy technologies rather than limiting itself to battery electric vehicles. Its first product will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which JSW Motors sees an important bridge technology between internal combustion engines to electric mobility.
Expected Upcoming JSW Motors Cars
JSW Motors is currently testing multiple new models, including the Jetour T2 Plug-in Hybrid, Jaecco J5 Electric, and iCAUR V23. Adding to it, JSW Motors has also patented the Chery Tiggo 8, a three-row SUV in India. The Jetour T2 PHEV based rugged SUV will be the first model from the homegrown automaker.
The Jetour T2 plug-in hybrid SUV offers an extraordinary combined driving range of over 1200km on a full fuel tank and battery charge. It is packed with a 1.5-litre i-DM Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, combining a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with an electric motor and a 26.7 kWh battery pack. The powertrain offers a combined power and torque output of 381hp and 610Nm, respectively. The SUV is claimed to offer a pure EV range of up to 139 km, making daily city commutes zero-emission. It is claimed to offer a combined range of up to 1200km on a full tank of petrol and a completely battery charge.
