JSW Motors likely to reveal Jetour T2, iCar-V23 and Jaecco EV at Auto Expo 2027 Jetour T2 PHEV will be the brand's first model in India
We informed you earlier that JSW Motors will start its independent journey as an automobile brand by the end of this year. It was speculated that the first JSW product could be launched by Diwali 2026; however, few media reports suggest that the launch could take place in early 2027. In fact, the brand could showcase its products at the Auto Expo 2027. JSW Motors is expected to make its official entry into India’s passenger vehicle market through its partnership with Chery Automobile.
It is expected that JSW Motors will introduce three new SUVs, including a plug-in hybrid SUV, a retro-rugged off-road EV and a sleek urban electric crossover. In fact, all three SUVs have been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads.
JSW Auto Expo 2027 Unveilings
Jetour T2 PHEV
It is expected to be the brand’s first model in our market. The company will launch the Jetour T2 plug-in hybrid SUV, which promises over 1,000 km of driving range. It will initially come via a CKD route with local assembly planned at JSW’s facility in Maharashtra. We expect the new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle to price somewhere around Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom.
It will be offered with a 1.5-litre i-DM Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, combining a 1.5L turbo petrol engine with an electric motor and a 26.7 kWh battery pack. The powertrain offers a combined power and torque output of 381 hp and 610 Nm, respectively. The SUV is claimed to offer a pure EV range of up to 139 km, making daily city commutes zero-emission. iCar-V23 EV
It will be JSW’s second car, and will be a battery-electric vehicle or BEV. The iCaur V23 is a boxy, rugged looking electric SUV offered with two battery choices, including a 81.76 kWh and a 59.93 kWh. The bigger battery comes with a dual-motor AWD setup, and offers a combined power and torque output of 201bhp and 292Nm. The smaller battery version will have a single motor delivering 134bhp and 180Nm. It is claimed to offer a range of up to 510km on a single charge.
This rugged EV comes with typical off-roader stance with design elements include round-shaped LED headlamps, a flat swing-type tailgate with an external storage box, and flared wheel arches. Inside the cabin, it gets a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, squared-off steering wheel, automatic AC, ventilated and powered front seats and others.
JSW Jaecco J5 EV
JSW Motor’s third product for our market will be based on Chery Jaecoo J5, which has been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. JSW could showcase the new electric crossover at the 2027 Auto Expo. This model gets typical SUV design traits, featuring slim LED lighting system, 19-inch aero-optimised wheels, a large 14.8-inch vertically oriented touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, a 540-degree camera system, LEVEL 2 ADAS and others.
This five-seater electric SUV is packed with a 60.9 kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle motor, and offers a combined power and torque output of 210hp and 288Nm, respectively. It is claimed to offer a range of 461km.
