Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is a C-segment premium sedan launched as a replacement for the SX4 in the Indian automobile market. Sold through the NEXA premium dealership chain, this new car model has been on sale in the country since 2014 and has spawned numerous facelifts.

The latest update brought cosmetic upgrades to the four-wheeler and dropped the diesel engine in favour of a 1.5-litre Smart Hybrid petrol motor.

From the outside, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz design is an evolution of the SX4’s design adapted to the modern generation. Visually the car features styling cues familiar to most NEXA cars. The front end features a new grille pattern and is surrounded by chrome. The large grille is flanked by new sweptback LED headlamps with DRLs.

Lower down we can see a brand-new housing for the fog lamp with chrome surrounds. Moving to the sides, one can notice new multi-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels along with a sharp shoulder line. Towards the rear, there are LED tail lamps and a boot lip spoiler on select variants. Overall, the 2023 Ciaz is a good-looking car with compact dimensions.

Interior:
On the inside, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz’s cabin exudes a feeling of premiumness with its all-beige upholstery. The dashboard layout is familiar from the SX4 but has been upgraded with soft touch materials.

Ciaz features the centre piece of the cabin is the 7-inch Smartplay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other features include coloured digital MID, rear AC vent, rear sunshade, reading lamp, cruise control, leather seats and more.

Safety:
In terms of safety, the Ciaz offers 2-airbags, ABS with EBD, engine immobiliser, reverse camera and sensor as basic equipment.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is powered by the updated 1.5-litre Smart Hybrid petrol engine. This unit comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission option. The engine produces 103 bhp and 138 Nm of peak torque.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz measures 4,490mm in length, is 1,730mm wide and 1,485mm tall having a wheelbase of 2,650mm. The car gets a large 43-litre fuel tank and 16-inch alloy wheels.
