The India-bound Chery Jetour T2 has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by ASEAN NCAP, reflecting its strong performance in crash tests and safety assessments. The SUV scored 29.74 points for adult occupant protection and 40.63 points for child occupant protection, highlighting its focus on passenger safety.
In the frontal impact test, the Jetour T2 provided good protection to the driver’s head and upper legs, while chest protection was rated as adequate. For the front passenger, the SUV offered good protection to the head, neck, chest, and upper legs, with lower leg protection rated as adequate.
During side impact tests, the SUV offered good protection to the head, neck, chest, and abdomen of both driver and passenger, ensuring strong occupant safety from multiple angles.
The Jetour T2 was tested with child dummies in rearward-facing seats. An 18-month-old dummy scored 7.6 points in frontal impact and 4.0 points in side impact, totaling 11.6 points. A 3-year-old dummy scored 8.0 points in frontal impact and 4.0 points in side impact, totaling 12 points. These results show the SUV provides strong protection for young passengers.
The SUV earned 18 points for safety assist features, which include driver aids and advanced systems to prevent accidents. It also scored 13 points for motorcyclist safety, ensuring safer interaction with two-wheelers on the road.
The Chery Jetour T2 demonstrates that it prioritizes safety for adults, children, and other road users, making it a strong contender in the premium SUV segment in India.
