Why Toyota Fortuner has Heavy Demand in India?

Why Toyota Fortuner has Heavy Demand in India?

The Toyota Fortuner is very much in demand since its launch in India. It has dominated the segment over decades. Despite this being a premium SUV with a higher price tag, the demand never drops. Here are the top reasons behind so much admiration of the Toyota Fortuner in India: Reliability and Durability Long-running ability is something for which the Toyota Fortuner has been primarily known. One can easily find older generation Fortuners from a decade back still going smooth beyond 2,00,000 or 3,00,000 kilometres. This, indirectly, appeals to practicality, reflecting in its overall durability, making it a car of choice for Indian automobile customers when reliability and long-lasting performance become top priorities. Low Maintenance Cost The sturdy build of the Fortuner and the capability of Toyotas to run for a long time bring down the cost of ownership in the long run. Not to forget, with an extended warranty period and easily available genuine spare parts post the warranty expiration period, the intrinsically capable SUV is also easy to maintain. In fact, this easily explains, along with the SUV's capabilities and its spacious interiors, why the Fortuner has been the preferred choice for many Indian car buyers. Powerful Diesel Engine The 2.8-litre diesel engine in the Fortuner lays down a full 500Nm of torque, which kicks in as low as 1600rpm. The plenty of torque makes this extremely driveable in most conditions, so it would understandably be a hit with Indian drivers normally used to pathetic road conditions. All that power bunched up from the diesel mill is also reflected in the performance figures, where the output of 201bhp results in a 0-100kmph sprint time of less than 10 seconds. Praiseworthy After-Sales Support A well-established after-sales service network set by Toyota takes prime lead in the success of Fortuner. This would provide easy access to service stations in almost every nook and corner of India, considerably making servicing and repairing easy for owners of the car. The availability of trained technicians and genuine parts ensures that the cost of maintenance stays relatively affordable, which eventually results in the long-term popularity of the Fortuner. Good Resale Value Of all SUVs on sale today, the Toyota Fortuner is definitely one of those models that does very well with regard to value retention. While so many SUVs tend to decrease their price right at the outset, Fortuner owners could still be returned a good part of their original outlay even after years or several thousands of miles on it. Of course, this strength in regard to durability and longevity places the Fortuner not only as a comfortable and mighty SUV but also as a potentially sound financial move. Competitive Pricing The Fortuner comes with several variants, and the prices for these differ across major cities. The entry-level variant, priced at about Rs. 38.83 lakhs for the 2.7L Petrol 4x2 off-road and Rs.40.03 lakhs for the top-end 2.8L Diesel 4x4 on-road, is available in Delhi. While the Mumbai variant of the base model is about Rs. 39.88 lakhs, at the top it is available for about Rs. 48.20 lakhs. Currently, Bangalore prices start at approximately Rs. 41.96 lakhs for the base variant and top out at Rs. 50.07 lakhs. In Chennai, the price is Rs. 41.91 lakhs for the base variant and Rs. 50.26 lakhs for the top-end car. Conclusion The Toyota Fortuner stands for the epitome of any SUV in India, warranted by its unbeatable reliability, low maintenance cost, fuel-efficient diesel motor, strong after-sales network, good resale value, and fantastic pricing. All these elements put together make it one of the best-sellers and hottest vehicles in demand across the country. So far, it has remained a perfect choice for Indian buyers for the ones who need a powerful comfortable SUV or a reliable investment. Why Are Toyota Cars So Reliable? Top 9 Reasons

If there is one thing that Toyota is synonymous with, it is reliability. Since its 1997 entry into the domestic market, the Japanese carmaker has earned a reputation for launching vehicles that just never break down. To this day, the Toyota Corolla holds the title of the most-sold car in the world. But what is the secret sauce behind Toyota’s consistent reliability? Well, here are nine reasons why nothing beats the dependence factor of Toyota: Durability It is a no-brainer that Toyota Cars are built to last for years. Made from the best materials and thoroughly tested, these cars once bought require the least amount of maintenance and can take the beating of time as compared to other cars. In the long run, money spent on maintenance is not much as well.  Solid Feel Factor Step inside a Toyota and you will be awed by the rugged feel that the interior is made of. Not only the inside, cars like the Fortuner and Innova have a great road presence and look like they can handle a lot of external beating, ultimately resulting in increased trust in the brand. Credit goes to the engineers at Toyota for putting their heart and soul into manufacturing such next-level cars. As a matter of fact, the brand has become bigger than the cars itself. Amazing Resale Value If you were to purchase a used Toyota car, rest assured that you are buying a product that may last for a lifetime if given the right care and maintenance. And if you bought a brand new one, consider the fact that upon reselling the same you would be able to recover a decent amount back as compared to cars of other brands. This translates into extra financial security that may not be as high in other automobile brands. High-Quality Materials Used Right from the engines to the body, every material used in Toyotas goes through rigorous testing to ensure optimal performance. As a result, the reliability factor is favoured and these four-wheelers not only perform well and are safe, but they provide a great driving experience.  Hybrid Mobility Leader As it is far ahead in terms of technology, Toyota excels in making hybrid systems. In India, Toyota provides its hybrid tech to brands like Maruti Suzuki. You will find it being used in the very popular Grand Vitara Hybrid. Using a hybrid car reduces the level of pollutants emitted, leading to a cleaner environment. Not only in India, Toyota continues to be the hybrid leader across the globe. Fuel Efficiency Generally fuel efficient, Toyota has a range of powertrain options in its lineup. In pure petrol mode, the mileage output of cars like the Hyryder goes up to 17 kilometres per litre. However, with the hybrid technology, you can expect a real-world mileage of 24 kilometres per litre, making you spend less at the fuel station. Besides being fuel efficient, they pack a decent amount of performance as well.   Innovation at the Forefront Toyota does well in collaborating with other brands, providing technology and rebadging products to stay with the times. Overseas, Toyota sells electric vehicles like the Prius which has been leading the pack for years, implying that Toyota was ahead of the curve even when EVs weren’t this popular. Concerning the integration of new technologies in cars, Toyota ranks in front of major car manufacturers.  Toyota’s Trust Customer satisfaction is well-taken care of at Toyota with regular feedback. New Ford Everest or Endeavour - When Will It Launch?

After a brief halt, Ford Motor Company is all set to make its re-entry in the Indian market. The company will take the CBU route to first introduce its global products including EVs and SUVs. If all goes according to the media reports, the new Ford Everest will mark Ford's return to India.  New Ford Everest Launch Details Yes, you heard it right, the new-gen Ford Everest is most likely to be launched in the country in 2025. The new SUV will initially be launched as a CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit), as Ford is aiming to make full use of the Government's 2500-unit import rule. The Government of India has allowed automakers to import 2,500 units without going through a homologation process.  Ford Motor Company will have to upgrade the factory for local assembly of its cars. The Toyota Fortuner is currently dominating the large SUV segment. The new Everest will only give more options to SUV buyers. In some cities, the on-road price of the Fortuner's top variant has already crossed Rs 60 lakh. A fully imported Endeavour or Everest is most likely to cost less or similar to the Fortuner.  If media reports are to be believed, the new SUV won't be called the new Endeavour in India. Instead, the new SUV is most likely to be called the Ford Everest in India. This strategy will help Ford Motor Company to save money which in other cases, would go into localisation of new badges, logos and nameplates.  New Ford Everest Styling The new gen Ford Everest styling is completely different from the older Endeavour. The styling is inspired by the new F-150 Raptor, featuring a new 3D radiator grille with vertical slats, new dual-pod projector LED headlamps with stylish C-shaped LED DRLs, a wider air-intake and a new fog lamp housing.  The side profile has flat & box design with rugged styling elements. It rides on big 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear design is simple and less busy, featuring C-shaped LED tail-lights, a roof-mounted spoiler and high-mounted brake light.  New Ford Everest Interior The new-gen Ford Everest has a newly designed interior that has more features and premium touches. The SUV has an all-new black interior scheme and has leather upholstery for seats, steering and gear lever. It is packed with a vertical 12-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, voice assist, etc. Other features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, a panoramic sunroof, automatic air-conditioning, electrically adjustable driver's seat and many more.  Engine Options The new Ford Everest is available in 3 engine options - a 170hp, 2.0L turbo diesel, a 207hp, 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel and a 247hp, 3.0L turbo diesel. All engines are offered with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. While the lower-spec models are available in 4x2 and 4x4 drive layouts, the 3.0L V6 engine comes in a single 4x4 drive configuration. Ford is most likely to introduce a fully-loaded variant of the Everest in our market.  Also See - Honda Elevate EV - When Will It Launch?
