JSW Group is preparing to enter the Indian passenger vehicle market with a new brand, and the JSW Jetour T2 is expected to be its first SUV. The model is likely to arrive in 2026 and will be based on the Jetour T2 i-DM, a plug-in hybrid SUV from China-based Chery Automobile.
Here is what we know so far about the Jetour T2 India launch, its range, and expected price.
JSW is setting up a separate company called JSW Motors Limited to launch its own cars in India. While the group continues its partnership with MG Motor, the Chery tie-up will be used for a completely new JSW-branded lineup. The Jetour T2 will lead this new journey and help JSW establish itself as an independent car brand in India.

Globally, Jetour is Chery’s premium SUV brand. The Jetour T2 is a large, rugged-looking SUV with a boxy design inspired by the Land Rover Defender. For India, JSW is expected to bring only the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, known as the Jetour T2 i-DM.
This strategy makes sense as there are very few PHEV options in India outside the luxury segment. With this move, JSW can offer something new without clashing with models sold by JSW MG Motor India.
JSW Jetour T2 will use a 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid powertrain that produces 156 PS and 220 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), designed for smooth switching between electric, hybrid, and engine
modes.
The SUV will come with a 26.7 kWh battery pack, offering a pure electric range of up to 130 km (NEDC). Using a fast charger, the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes. This makes the Jetour T2 2026 suitable for daily city driving on electric power alone.
In terms of size, the Jetour T2 is a large SUV. It measures 4,785 mm in length, 2,006 mm in width, and 1,875 mm in height, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. It will be offered in a 5-seat layout, ensuring good space and comfort for passengers.
The SUV is built on a monocoque platform and gets a strong, boxy design that gives it a tough road presence. In international markets, both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options are available.
The Jetour T2 India price is expected to start at around Rs 45 lakh. If launched at this level, it could become the most affordable plug-in hybrid SUV in India. This pricing will place it below luxury PHEVs while still offering advanced hybrid technology and a premium feel.
The JSW Jetour T2 will be locally assembled at JSW’s upcoming plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The SUV is expected to go on sale around the festive season of 2026, making it one of the most talked-about new launches of the year.
