JSW Motors is preparing to enter the Indian passenger vehicle market with an exciting new SUV. The company recently teased its first vehicle through a front-page ad in The Economic Times, showing the outline of an SUV with the message, "The future is calling. Will you join the drive?" This ad hints at the upcoming launch of JSW Motors’ first vehicle under its own brand.
The ad also invites potential dealer partners to "join the drive" and register their interest by scanning a QR code before March 11, 2026. This suggests that JSW Motors is working on building its dealer network ahead of the launch, indicating that the debut of their first vehicle could happen soon.

JSW Motors is expected to launch the Chery Jetour T2 i-DM, a 4.7-meter, 5-seater plug-in hybrid SUV. The company has partnered with China’s Chery Automobile to bring this vehicle to India. The Jetour T2 i-DM will be assembled locally at JSW’s new production facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
Expected to be priced around Rs 45 lakh, the Jetour T2 i-DM will be the most affordable plug-in hybrid SUV in India’s mainstream market. This price point makes it more accessible to a wider range of buyers who want to move to greener driving options without breaking the bank.
The decision to introduce a plug-in hybrid SUV is a smart one for JSW Motors. While there are a few hybrid vehicles available in India, they are mostly in the luxury segment. The Jetour T2 i-DM will stand out by offering a more affordable option with hybrid technology, making it a unique choice for buyers.
The Jetour T2 i-DM will come with a 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid engine, producing 156 PS and 220 Nm of torque. It will have a 26.7 kWh battery, allowing it to drive up to 130 km on electric power alone. The SUV can also charge from 30% to 80% in about 30 minutes with a fast charger.
With a length of 4,785 mm, width of 2,006 mm, height of 1,875 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,800 mm, the Jetour T2 i-DM will offer a spacious and comfortable ride.
Although JSW Motors planned to launch the SUV in the third quarter of 2026, there may be some delays. Reports suggest that the company is facing challenges in importing some parts from China due to strict quality control rules in India. If these issues are not resolved quickly, the launch could be postponed.
Despite these potential delays, JSW Motors is moving ahead with its plans. The company is working on its dealer network and production facilities, showing that the brand is committed to launching its first vehicle soon. As more details become available, excitement will likely grow for JSW Motors' plug-in hybrid SUV, which could make a big splash in the Indian market.
