Upcoming Maruti hybrid cars set for 2026-2027 launch. Swift, Fronx and Baleno Hybrid to offer 35+ kmpl mileage. Maruti’s new Series HEV tech to power multiple models.
Maruti Suzuki is preparing a major hybrid push in India. Several upcoming hybrid cars are expected to launch between 2026 and 2027. These models will use the brand’s new in-house Series Hybrid (HEV) technology and promise fuel efficiency of over 35 kmpl.
If you are tracking hybrid cars India launch in 2027, here’s a detailed look at the upcoming lineup.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid is likely to arrive by late 2027. It will use the new HEV series hybrid system, pairing a 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine with an electric motor.
In this setup, the petrol engine mainly works as a generator. The electric motor drives the wheels. This system is expected to deliver 35-40 kmpl, making it one of the most fuel-efficient hatchbacks in India.
Prices are likely to range between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 12 lakh. Local production of hybrid components should help keep costs competitive.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid is expected to debut in early 2027. It will introduce Maruti’s new HEV series hybrid technology in the SUV segment.
The 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-Series engine will act as a generator. It will charge the battery, and the electric motor will power the wheels. This setup aims to deliver over 35 kmpl.
Expected pricing between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 15 lakh could position it as one of the most affordable strong hybrid SUVs in India.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno Hybrid is also expected by late 2027. It will use the same Series Hybrid (HEV) system seen in other upcoming models.
The 1.2-litre Z-Series engine will generate power for the battery, while the electric motor will drive the car. Mileage is expected to exceed 35 kmpl, offering a big improvement over the current petrol version.
The estimated price range of Rs 11 lakh to Rs 13.5 lakh could make it a strong alternative in the premium hatchback segment.
Maruti is developing a compact three-row MPV based on the Japanese Suzuki Spacia. The India-spec model will be larger and more practical than the Kei car sold in Japan.
This sub-four-meter MPV, internally codenamed YDB, is expected to launch by 2026. It will likely use the 1.2L Z-Series engine with Series Hybrid (HEV) technology. Fuel efficiency could exceed 35 kmpl.
The model is expected to be sold through Nexa dealerships and positioned below the Ertiga in pricing.
Maruti Brezza Hybrid story is slightly different. The current Brezza already comes with Smart Hybrid (mild hybrid) technology in select variants.
A strong hybrid version using the new Series Hybrid system is expected with the next-generation Brezza, likely around 2028-2029. Before that, a 2026 facelift is expected, which may introduce engine updates to improve performance and efficiency.
