Mahindra Vision S and Maruti Fronx Facelift Launching in Next 5 Months
Mahindra Vision S based SUV to launch in early 2027 Fronx facelift to get ADAS and new 1.2L Petrol Engine
Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki are set to introduce two exciting new sub-4-meter SUVs in the next 4-5 months. These two small SUVs will target buyers looking for tech updates, distinct styling, and high efficiency. While Mahindra will introduce the Vision S based lifestyle compact SUV, Maruti Suzuki will introduce the Fronx facelift.

Estimated Price - Rs 8 lakh - Rs 12 lakh
Expected to be introduced in early 2027, the Mahindra Vision S based compact SUV will be a boxy, rugged SUV. Built to slot alongside Mahindra XUV 3XO, the production-spec Vision S aims to offer a combination of off-road-inspired design with modern tech and features.
It is rumoured to be the smallest member of the Scorpio family, and could be called the Scorpio Sport. It will mark the debut of Mahindra's new NU_IQ modular platform, which will also underpin the Mahindra Thar Electric and Mahindra Vision X based crossover. It is expected to be offered with turbo-petrol and diesel engine options derived from Mahindra's mStallion and mHawk families.
The SUV adopts a rugged design theme, featuring aggressive vertical grille elements, rectangular-shaped LED lighting setup, squared-off wheel arches, flat roofline, thick body cladding and an upright tailgate stance. Inside the cabin, the SUV will have a dual-screen layout for infotainment and instrument console, wireless smartphone connectivity, connected-car tech, powered driver's seat, a 360-degree camera and others. For safety, the SUV could get 6 airbags, ESC, Hill-Hold Assist, LEVEL-2 ADAS, and others.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift
Maruti Suzuki is currently testing the facelifted version of the Fronx crossover. The SUV will receive design and interior changes along with new range of features. Spy shots reveal that the Fronx facelift will receive key design changes, enhanced safety features, including ADAS, and Suzuki's new engine.
The new Maruti Fronx facelift will receive active safety features such as Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Lane Departure Warning. It will also get front parking sensors and rear disc brakes. In terms of styling, the SUV will have revised mesh pattern for grille, revised bumpers, tri-LED DRLs with updated internal signatures, and 16-inch dual-tone alloys.
Inside the cabin, the crossover is expected to get front ventilation function with leatherette upholstery, premium Clarion sound system, and revised touchscreen unit. Key features will include head-up Display (HUD), 360-degree surround view camera, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
The Fronx facelift will be powered by a 1.2L 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine that produces 83 hp and 112 Nm. It will also get the 70hp, CNG powertrain. The other engine will include a 1.0L Boosterjet turbo petrol engine producing 100hp and 148Nm. The crossover is also expected to receive a Series Hybrid powertrain, which will utilise the 1.2L engine as a generator, and an electric motor to drive the wheels.
