Mahindra XUV700 Electric launch in Q1, 2026 Based on INGLO platform To get dual-motor AWD set-up Six and 7-seater versions will be introduced
Mahindra is gearing up for the launch of its new 7-seater electric SUV based on XUV.e8 concept. Rumoured to be called the Mahindra XEV 7e, the new electric SUV has recently been spotted while charging at a public charging station. The homegrown SUV maker has already trademarked the Mahindra XEV 7e nomenclature in India.
It is essentially the EV version of the Mahindra XUV700 SUV, and the SUV will target the urban families. The XEV 7e will be based on the brand’s skateboard platform, called the INGLO. This platform also underpins the XEV 9e and BE 6. The XUV700 electric will share several components, powertrain and features with the brand’s two born-electric SUVs.
The latest sighting of the XEV 7e at a charging station clearly reveals that the charging port is located on the rear three-quarter panel. This mimics the location of a traditional fuel filler cap, and offers accessibility in various scenarios.
The company is testing the XEV 7e with production body panels. It appears largely identical to the XUV700 from side profile, except for the new set of alloys. Previous spy images reveal that the SUV will get the full-width LED light bar and inverted L-shaped DRLs, and closed-off front grille. The SUV will have LEVEL 2+ ADAS system, and front and rear-parking sensors.

The rear seems identical to the XUV700, but there are some EV-specific design changes. The SUV could get new rear bumper, different treatment for C-pillars and new rear spoiler.
The cabin appears largely identical to the XEV 9e, featuring a triple screen dashboard comprising three 12.3-inch displays. It gets a two-spoke steering wheel, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, multi-zone climate control, etc.
The Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to be offered with 6 and 7-seat layout. The former will have captain seats in second-row, which are likely to support ventilation. Battery Specs
The 3-row electric SUV will share its powertrains with the XEV 9e, which is offered with the 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery pack options. The Mahindra XEV 9e is only available in a rear wheel avatar, but the XEV 7e will also have a dual-motor AWD version.
While official launch details are yet to be revealed, but our sources reveal that the Mahindra XEV 7e could go on sale in Q1, 2026. A possible debut in December 2025 or January 2026 can’t be ignored.
