MG Motor is all set to bring the MG4 EV to India by late 2025, offering Indian buyers a modern, feature-packed electric hatchback. The MG4 EV india launch is expected to shake up the EV market, with a likely price of around Rs 30 lakh and advanced features that make it a strong contender in its segment.
The India-spec MG4 EV will be a rear-wheel-drive electric hatchback, offering two battery options - 51 kWh and 64 kWh, delivering a WLTP range of up to 450 km. Fast charging support ensures the battery can be charged quickly, making it convenient for daily use.

The new MG4 EV is built on SAIC’s E3 electric platform, making it lighter and more spacious than its predecessor. Its exterior features sleek LED projector headlamps, a split honeycomb grille, sporty side air ducts, and an illuminated MG logo. At the rear, LED tail lamps with a connecting strip, a roof spoiler, and a bold bumper give it a modern, athletic look.
Inside, the cabin is designed for comfort and technology. Top trims feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 15.6-inch display for higher trims, and an advanced digital instrument cluster.
MG is introducing a semi-solid-state battery in its Anxin Edition globally, making it the first production EV with this technology. Standard variants use LFP batteries with 42.8 kWh or 53.9 kWh options, offering ranges of 437 km and 530 km, respectively.
The MG4 EV is powered by a six-in-one integrated electric motor producing 161 hp and 250 Nm of torque, with a top speed of 160 km/h. The lightweight design and new platform promise improved handling and efficiency.
The India-spec MG4 EV will come equipped with smart features including:
- ADAS for lane-keeping assist, autonomous lane change, and auto parking
- 360-degree cameras and ultrasonic sensors for safety and easy manoeuvring
- Infotainment powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155, ensuring smooth connectivity
- Seamless integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
While prices in China start at around Rs 8.5 lakh, the MG 4 EV launch date in India is set for late 2025, with expected pricing around Rs 30 lakh. The MG4 EV will compete with popular EVs in India, offering a combination of style, technology, and range that is designed to attract first-time EV buyers as well as enthusiasts.
