The long-awaited VinFast VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs have finally been launched in the Indian market. While the VinFast VF7 is priced at Rs 20.89 lakh, the VF6 is tagged at Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). For people not in the know, the Vietnamese EV maker had showcased both SUVs along with its global EV line-up and concepts at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
Interested buyers can book the new VinFast EVs online at the brand’s India website by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. Both models are brought via a CKD route and assembled locally at VinFast’s Thoothukudi manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. This plant has an annual production capacity of 50,000 units, which can be expanded to 1.5 lakh units per year.
VinFast has confirmed that its Tamil Nadu factory will produce electric vehicles for India as well as for export. The locally developed EVs will be exported to multiple regions including the Middle East and Africa. The company has tied up with 13 dealer groups to open 32 outlets across 27 Indian cities. The first few dealerships will open in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
