Nissan Motor India is preparing for a major product reveal next month. The New Nissan Tekton midsize SUV will be officially unveiled on February 4, 2026, marking an important step in the brand’s comeback strategy for the Indian market.
The Nissan Tekton launch will take place shortly after Nissan introduces the Gravite seven-seat MPV on January 21. While the Gravite will arrive first as a family-focused MPV, the Nissan Tekton SUV will target the highly competitive midsize SUV segment in India.

The All New Nissan Tekton will be based on the CMF-B platform, which has been heavily localised for Indian road and safety conditions. The same platform will also underpin the next-generation Renault Duster, scheduled for launch on January 26, 2026. Nissan has confirmed that this architecture will support future models as well, including a seven-seater SUV derived from the Tekton, expected next year.
Once launched, the New Nissan Tekton will compete with some of the most popular SUVs in India. Its key rivals will include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Mahindra Scorpio N and the upcoming Tata Sierra. Nissan is positioning the Tekton as a strong alternative with a focus on design, features and performance.
Official engine specifications have not been revealed yet. However, the Nissan Tekton SUV is expected to get turbo-petrol engine options with both manual and automatic transmissions. A strong-hybrid version is also being evaluated for a later phase. Higher variants may offer an all-wheel-drive system.
The design of the All New Nissan Tekton is inspired by Nissan’s larger global SUVs like the Patrol. The SUV is expected to feature a bold and upright stance, squared-off proportions, a large front grille, C-shaped LED headlamps and strong bonnet creases. At the rear, a full-width LED light bar and prominent Tekton badging are likely highlights.
Interior details are still under wraps, but the New Nissan Tekton is expected to offer a premium and feature-rich cabin. Likely features include a large touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, soft-touch materials and advanced driver assistance systems. Other expected highlights include ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered tailgate and automatic climate control.
The Nissan Tekton SUV will be manufactured at the Renault–Nissan Alliance facility in Chennai. Apart from catering to the Indian market, Nissan plans to export the SUV to select international markets.
