Toyota's first EV in India, the Urban Cruiser Ebella, is here. Offers up to 543 km range with a choice of 49kWh and 61kWh batteries. Price will be revealed after the Maruti e Vitara launch.
Toyota India has introduced its first fully electric SUV, the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV. The new model, which is based on the Maruti e Vitara, is designed to compete in the midsize electric SUV category. It will face competition from other electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, and Vinfast VF6. The price of the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV will be announced after the launch of the Maruti e Vitara.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella is available with two battery options: a 49kWh and a 61kWh LFP battery. The 49kWh battery produces 144hp and 189Nm of torque, while the 61kWh battery delivers 174hp and 189Nm. The larger battery offers a range of up to 543 km on a single charge, as per the ARAI cycle. With the addition of this EV, Toyota’s India portfolio now includes petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric models.

The exterior of the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV resembles the Maruti e Vitara, with some design changes. These include sleeker, segmented LED DRLs and triangular headlights, connected by a thick black trim. The front bumper features vertical air vents at the edges, and there is body cladding around the SUV. The rear door handles are integrated into the C-pillar, similar to the e Vitara. The taillights are segmented and not connected by a light bar.
The Urban Cruiser Ebella offers 5 monotone and four dual-tone colour options. The monotone colours include Cafe White, Bluish Black, Gaming Grey, Sportin Red, and Enticing Silver. The dual-tone options are Cafe White, Land Breeze Green, Sportin Red, and Enticing Silver, all with a black roof.
Inside, the Urban Cruiser Ebella EV mirrors the Maruti e Vitara. It features a 10.1-inch digital driver's display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and includes ventilated front seats, 12-colour ambient lighting, and a JBL sound system.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella EV comes with a range of safety features, including seven airbags and disc brakes on all four wheels. Other available features include a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and an acoustic vehicle alert system (AVAS). The top variant also includes a Level 2 ADAS suite with lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.
Toyota is offering over 500 EV-enabled service touchpoints across India. The Urban Cruiser Ebella EV comes with an 8-year battery warranty, a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) rental program, and a 60% buyback assurance scheme.
