BMW iX3 2025 debuts as first production Neue Klasse EV Offers 800V fast charging and up to 900km range Design inspired by Vision Neue Klasse X concept
BMW is all set to unveil the next-generation iX3 electric SUV on September 5, 2025. This new model is the first production car under BMW’s Neue Klasse platform, which promises big improvements in range, charging speed and efficiency.
The Neue Klasse (German for “New Class”) is BMW’s new generation of electric vehicles. These cars will use advanced batteries, lightweight construction and new design elements. BMW claims that Neue Klasse EVs will be 20% more energy-efficient and cheaper to build, making them more accessible for buyers.
The upcoming iX3 will sit on the BMW Gen6 architecture with 800V fast-charging support. Reports suggest that the SUV will offer:
- Up to 900km range (CLTC test cycle)
- A round 800km range (WLTP)
- A 350km top-up in just 10 minutes of charging
This is a massive upgrade compared to the current iX3, which offers a maximum of 461km on a single charge.
The design of the new iX3 takes inspiration from the Vision Neue Klasse X concept. Key highlights include:
- Closed-off front nose and illuminated kidney grille
- Slim slanting LED DRLs
- Smooth side panels with flush-fitting door handles
- Sleek horizontal tail-lamps at the rear
The SUV is expected to be slightly longer and wider than the outgoing model, giving it a more spacious and premium appeal.
With its launch, the 2025 BMW iX3 will take on strong competition like the Audi Q6 e-tron and the upcoming Mercedes GLC EV. Thanks to its long driving range and ultra-fast charging, BMW is positioning the iX3 as one of the most advanced electric SUVs in its segment.
The world premiere of the new BMW iX3 is scheduled for September 5, 2025. Deliveries in global markets are expected to begin in early 2026.
