The SUV segment in the price bracket of Rs. 15 to 20 lakh has been intensely competitive in India and has forced automobile manufacturers to upgrade their products regularly. Ever since its launch in August 2021, the Mahindra XUV500 successor in the company’s stable serves as a worthy heir to the former that cemented the SUV image of the brand. Its rivals include the Tata Safari, which is available in diesel and misses out on all-wheel drive.
The Mahindra XUV700 has been in demand for numerous aspects and technologies embedded in it and is considered one of the most advanced vehicles in its segment. From exterior design to engines, here’s everything that you need to know about the XUV700.

The highlight of the Mahindra XUV700 is that it commands a great stance with a contemporary and magnetic appeal. The radical and muscular-looking mid-size SUV does not let the driver or passengers leave any impression behind the wheel. The front looks aggressive and sporty because of its vertical slat grille in the nose area. LED headlights in the SUV add to the visible beauty quotient and the DRLs look nice too.
You also have to notice the sleek body structure with lines all across the body line. These lines and curves add more to the style and strength of its overall structure and give a lucrative look to the car. At the back, distinctive character lines encompass the car’s sides and add to the muscular appeal.
Inside, the XUV700 SUV has a futuristic look with dual-tone theme. It is loaded with features and had a lot of segment firsts at the time of launch. The centre console gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster enabled with a digital interface with smartphone connectivity and a voice recognition system.
Furthermore, it gets adjustable powered seats with memory function, automatic climate control, powered panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting. Other highlight features include automatic climate control, a start/ stop button, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers.

There are two engines on offer with the XUV700: A 2-litre petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel mill, belting out 197.13 bhp/ 380 Nm and 182.38 bhp/ 450 Nm, respectively. Both these powertrains can be paired with a manual or automatic transmission. You also get the all-wheel drive (AWD) system with the bigger diesel mill. It is noteworthy that Mahindra still makes diesel engines in this day and age when car manufacturers are losing favour of the fuel.
The Mahindra XUV700 offers a comprehensive list of features that blend advanced technology and comfort. Comfort is prioritized with amenities such as Ambient Lighting, Multi-Zone Climate Control, a Panoramic Sunroof, an Electronic driver seat with memory function, keyless entry and ignition, Automatic headlights, Rain-sensing wipers and more.
The XUV700 also boasts a top-notch infotainment system, featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen with a 3D Sony sound system for an immersive multimedia experience. With these features, the XUV700 aims to create a luxurious and technologically advanced environment for both the driver and passengers.
The safety factor has always been at the forefront of the SUV. Besides the XUV700 scoring five stars in the Global National Car Assessment Programme, the XUV700 gets advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) as well. Other safety bits include ABS, EBD and seven airbags. With the addition of these features, every drive on the road feels planted.
So these features make the Mahindra XUV700 a top choice in the mid-size SUV segment.
