The Audi Q5 facelift has been in the works for quite some time. The SUV was discontinued in India before the BS6 transition, and the pandemic delayed the delivery of its replacements. The year 2021 has witnessed a significant return from the German brand in terms of debuts across all segments – except the Q series. This facelift fills that void. The SUV is built at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, and comes in two trim levels: Premium Plus and Technology. The front end is updated with a new grille, a reworked bumper, and new LED headlights with LED DRLs.
The single-frame grille is now flatter and broader, and the bumper has been revised, all of which improve the car's appearance. The SUV also gets a new pair of LED headlamps and elegant LED DRLs, which add to the car's appearance. Compared to the pre-facelift automobile, the air inlets are slightly higher, including silver skid plates. Only the highest trim gets 19-inch double-spoke star-styled alloys on the profile. The Premium gets the same wheels as the base model, but they look slightly different. Overall, the car appears to be relatively modern and easily fits into an urban lifestyle.
The profile's metal roof rails and side skirts also draw your notice. The LED combo lamps with dynamic turn indicators in the rear highlight complemented the car's size nicely. The revised tailgate and the hefty skid plates with cleverly integrated exhaust tips give the SUV a new lease of life. Overall, there are five color selections to pick from, and I settled on Navarra blue. Overall, the SUV's design is imposing yet discreet, and it's a job well done.
The cabin of the Q5 is clean and uncluttered. The buttons are appropriately laid up, and there aren't too many. The combination of black on the dash and Okapi brown on the seats appears to be somewhat upscale, with the alternative being much lighter and more challenging to keep Atlas beige. The redesigned 10.1 Multi-Media Interface is just as snappy and straightforward to use as the previous version, if not more so.
Audi's smartphone interface in the Q5 includes functions connected to my Audi connect. The virtual cockpit plus, of course, is always one of the highlights of Audi vehicles. It's beautiful to look at, has excellent clarity, and is utilitarian. Finally, a 3D 19-speaker B&O sound system is featured on the SUV, although it, like the virtual cockpit, is only available on the technology trim.
The ergonomics are excellent, as numerous storage possibilities surround the seats, and the cabin seems rather significant. Power adjustable front seats, ambient lighting with 30 color options, 3-zone climate control, and a wireless charger are also included on the Q5. You also receive charging slots of both types A and C. A vast panoramic sunroof reaches the second row, increasing the feeling of the room. Despite the floor tunnel, the second row is a comfy place to be even for three people. The new Q5 has sensor controlled boot lid opening for increased convenience.
The Q5 has up to eight airbags, including rear-side airbags. It also includes the Park assist feature for more accessible parking. Historically, about half of Audi's total sales in India have come only from the Q line. Therefore the Q5 is a tremendously important product for the brand reclaiming lost ground in India. With all of the modifications, the automobile can achieve just that. However, the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, and Land Rover Discovery Sport stand in the way. However, we'll have to wait and see if Audi priced the Q5 competitively when it goes on sale in mid-November. At Car Lelo, we provide the best deals on Audi Cars. Audi car price range of 55 to 60 lakh, in my opinion, will turn up the heat in the market.
