India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Maruti Suzuki Swift has garnered huge popularity among Indian buyers, thanks to its affordability, stylish design and efficient powertrain. The company has introduced the new-gen Swift hatchback, which garnered over 40,000 pre-orders within a few days.
In fact, it managed to beat the Tata Punch to become India's top-selling car in the month of May 2024.
In this article, we talk about top 5 things to know about the new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback.
The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift is built on the modified HEARTECT platform, which also underpins the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Maruti Suzuki Fronx. In terms of proportions, the new Swift is 3,860mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,520mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm.
It is 15mm longer than the previous model, while the height and width are reduced by 30mm and 40mm, respectively. The hatchback offers a boot space of 265-litres, which can be further expanded by folding the second-row seat.
The new-gen Swift hatchback retains the original design; however, it has more modern styling elements. There is a sharper front styling, accommodating a smaller grille and new LED headlamps.
Instead of C-pillar mounted door handles, the rear door handles are now placed in a conventional position. Some of the design highlights include LED lighting system, blacked-out ORVMs and 15-inch dual-tone machined-cut alloy wheels.
In terms of features, the new Swift gets all the modern equipment that are accessible in the premium sibling, Baleno and the Fronx. It is packed with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument console and a wireless phone charging.
The hatchback gets LED headlamps, LED tail-lamps, LED fog lights and LED turn indicators. Other features include automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and A-C-type charging slots.
