Japanese automaker Isuzu has introduced the facelifted MU-X SUV in Thailand. The company has confirmed that the updated model will also go on sale in other markets where it is on sale. The 2024 Isuzu MU-X comes with cosmetic design changes and an upgraded interior; however, the ladder-frame chassis and powertrain options remain the same.
The 2024 Isuzu MU-X comes with a redesigned front fascia, featuring restyled headlamp setup and a new air curtain into the front bumper. The SUV also gets redesigned aluminium wheels. Similar to the exterior, the cabin styling has been revamped to offer a premium feel. The instrument panel, seats and door trim have been redesigned to offer a premium feel.
The company has also introduced the RS version of the SUV, which comes with black elements across its exterior design. There is an exclusive RS emblem on the front grille, offering a sportier and sleeker profile. The cabin of the new Isuzu MU-X gets ambient lighting and foot lamps. The SUV also gets a Surround view monitor system and a 7-inch TFT LCD display to the instrument panel.
The 2024 Isuzu MU-X facelift also comes with advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). It has a camera-based ADAS tech with features collision avoidance system, autonomous emergency braking, rear collision avoidance system and others. In cold weather, the system automatically warms the windshield around the camera lens to prevent fogging and this avoids the risk of safety features malfunctioning.
In terms of proportions, the new Isuzu MU-X is 4,860mm long, 1,885mm wide and 1,875mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,855mm. The SUV rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped with 265/50R20 section tyres. Powering the SUV is a 3.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 188bhp at 3,600rpm and 450Nm at 1,600-2,600rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
