Rolls-Royce electric SUV spotted during winter testing Boxy design inspired by the Cullinan luxury SUV Expected to launch globally around 2027
Rolls-Royce is working on a new all-electric SUV, which has been spotted testing in cold weather conditions. This upcoming model will become the brand’s second electric vehicle after the Spectre and is expected to launch globally around 2027. The luxury SUV will be similar in size to the Cullinan and is part of Rolls-Royce’s plan to move towards an all-electric lineup by the end of the decade.

Spy images from winter testing in Sweden show that the Rolls-Royce electric SUV has a boxy and upright design, much like the Cullinan. At the front, it gets split headlamps with slim LED DRLs, similar to the Spectre, along with a large air intake on the bumper. Interestingly, the brand’s iconic Pantheon grille is missing, which is expected for an electric model. The side profile looks quite straight and boxy, with roof rails and relatively low ground clearance, making it look more like a luxury estate than a traditional SUV. At the rear, the SUV features vertical LED tail-lamps, a slightly angled D-pillar, and a subtle roof spoiler.
The upcoming electric SUV will be based on Rolls-Royce’s ‘Architecture of Luxury’ platform, which is also used by its current petrol and electric models. While official powertrain details are not confirmed yet, Rolls-Royce could borrow electric technology from BMW’s upcoming Neue Klasse EVs. Another possibility is that the SUV could use the same 102kWh dual-motor setup seen on the Spectre, which produces up to 659hp and offers a claimed driving range of over 500km. More details are expected closer to its official reveal.
