It is no secret that Hyundai has started testing the next-gen Bayon crossover in Korea as well as in Europe. This time around, the new-gen Hyundai Bayon has been spotted during harsh weather testing. Adding to it, the SUV has a fairly light camouflage that offers a clearer view at its styling.
For people not in the know, the current Hyundai Bayon was first launched in 2021 as a crossover in the European markets. The new model with more SUV-ish profile will be revealed towards the end of this year in global markets. Interestingly, Hyundai will also launch the new Bayon crossover in India in the next 1-2 years.

The design shift is evident from the spy images. The current model looks like a jagged-up hatch, while the new Hyundai Bayon has a squarer roofline, a more upright stance and slightly boxy proportions. Similar to the new Venue, the front and rear comes with connected light bars. It has a rising waistline and slightly flatter roof that adds some visual muscle.
The next Bayon will be bigger, and taller than the outgoing model, and is likely to be based on a longer wheelbase. Moreover, it will have a wider track which should allow engineers to create more space inside the cabin. It is expected to get a larger infotainment screen and more advanced safety tech.

The outgoing Hyundai Bayon is available with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that offers two states of tunes - 99hp and 118hp. The engine comes with a mild-hybrid system. According to the Korean media, the next-gen Bayon could get a proper hybrid powertrain.
Adding to it, the SUV is also reportedly to get an N Line version. This model will come with sportier bumpers and chassis tweaks.
The new Bayon appears longer than 4 meters in length, but the India-spec model will sit below 4 meters in length. It will be a direct rival to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. We expect the new model to cost somewhere around Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
