Diesel Kia Seltos has the longest waiting period Petrol variants get quicker delivery Strong demand boosts January 2026 sales
The 2026 Kia Seltos has started the year with strong sales. Kia sold 10,639 units of the Seltos in January 2026, making it one of the best-selling midsize SUVs in the country. The strong demand has also led to a waiting period for both diesel and petrol variants.
With this performance, the Seltos nameplate has crossed the 6 lakh cumulative sales milestone in India.
According to dealer sources, the diesel version of the New Kia Seltos is seeing higher demand compared to petrol models. As a result, buyers opting for the diesel engine are currently facing a waiting period of 6 to 8 weeks.
The strong demand for diesel variants is mainly due to better fuel efficiency and highway performance, which continue to attract SUV buyers.

Customers choosing petrol-powered versions of the New Gen Kia Seltos will have a slightly shorter wait. Both the naturally aspirated petrol and turbo-petrol variants have a waiting period of 4 to 6 weeks, depending on availability.
The 2026 Kia Seltos waiting period does not depend on whether the buyer selects a manual or automatic gearbox. It is mainly influenced by engine choice and colour.
The waiting period also changes based on colour preference. Shades like Glacier White Pearl and Aurora Black Pearl have the quickest delivery time, usually up to six weeks.
Colours such as Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, and Magma Red have longer waiting periods of up to eight weeks. Other shades, including Gravity Gray, Morning Haze, Frost Blue, Ivory Silver Gloss, and Xclusive Matte, also come with waiting times of over six weeks.
New Kia Seltos is offered with three engine options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. All engines are available with both manual and automatic transmissions.
Prices for the 2026 Kia Seltos start at Rs 10.99 lakh and go up to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV competes with rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and Honda Elevate.
