JSW Combat to launch by end of this fiscal To rival Honda ZR-V Hybrid, MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV
JSW Motors will finally introduce its first model as an independent automotive brand on December 4, 2026. Called the JSW Combat, the brand’s first model will be the Indianised version of the Jetour T2 PHEV on sale in select international markets. This 5-seater SUV is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 30 lakh - 50 lakh, ex-showroom. The SUV could be introduced as an alternative to the likes of the Honda ZR-V hybrid, Jeep Compass/Meridian and the Toyota Fortuner.
Engine Specifications
The Jetour T2 is offered with both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options in global markets. The JSW Combat will be powered by a 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine coupled to two electric motors and an 18.4 kWh battery pack. This AWD version produces 360 hp of power and 610 Nm of torque, and is paired to a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. The front-wheel-drive model offers a combined power and torque output of 156 hp and 220 Nm, respectively.
The plug-in hybrid SUV offers an all-electric range of up to 90 km (NEDC) and a combined range of around 1200km. Using a 50kW DC fast charger, the battery can achieve 30% to 80% charging status in around 27 minutes. On the other hand, the battery can fully charge using a 6.6 kW AC charger in 3 hours.
Design and Interior
The JSW Combat design will look largely identical to the Jetour T2, featuring a five-slat grille, rectangular LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights and LED fog lamps. The SUV gets a squared-off front fascia with a flat bonnet and a pronounced lower bumper. From the sides, the JSW Combat has a boxy silhouette, large outside rear view mirrors, flared wheel arches and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Styling elements like tall roof rails and side steps add to its rugged road presence. It also gets the traditional pull-type door handles. At the back, the JSW Combat gets a vertically mounted slim LED tail-lamps and a chunky bumper that adds to its rugged profile. The SUV gets the typical off-roader styled squared-off tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Interiors and Features
The cabin layout of the JSW Combat is most likely to be sourced from the international-spec Jetour T2. The SUV gets all-black interior scheme with contrasting red stitching, and complemented by exposed screws and the crystal-like gear shifter. It features a large central infotainment unit, slim AC vents. The SUV will come with a comprehensive ADAS suite with features like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and others. It is packed with a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the 10.25-inch digital instrument console, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, customisable drive modes and a 360-degree surround view camera.
