JSW Combat PHEV to debut on December 4, 2026 It will rival the Honda ZR-V and Jeep Meridian
JSW Group is all set to establish its own independent passenger vehicle manufacturing business and automotive brand in the Indian market. The company has a major focus on new-energy vehicles (NEVs), including battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and other electrified powertrain technologies. JSW has joined hands with China’s Chery Automobile, which will provide vehicle platforms, technology and components.
The JSW Combat PHEV will be the first model from JSW Motors, which is set to make its official debut on December 4, 2026. The SUV will be based on the Chery Jetour T2, and is expected to receive a few market-specific changes inside and out. With an estimated price range of Rs 30 lakh – Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), the all-new Combat will rival the Kia Sorento, Honda ZR-V Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, MG Majestor and Jeep Meridian.

Dimensionally, the upcoming JSW Combat is expected to be as big as the Jetour T2, which measures 4,785mm in length, 2,006mm in width and 1,880mm in height. The Jetour T2 offers a wheelbase of 2,800mm and a ground clearance of 220mm. The SUV has a boot capacity of 752-litres.
A heavily camouflaged test mule of the Combat was recently caught on camera, revealing interesting design and interior details. Spy shots suggest that the SUV will feature rugged styling with a boxy and upright stance, and offer a commanding road presence. Key design highlights include squarish headlamp, sporty bumpers, pronounced wheel arches, large 20-inch alloy wheels, conventional door handles, roof rails and rear tailgate mounted wheel.

The spied interior of the JSW Combat appears identical to the Jetour T2. It features a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. The centre console houses physical control buttons, a rotary dial and a short gear selector.
Expected features include a 12-speaker audio system, front and rear USB and Type-C ports, wireless smartphone connectivity, ambient lighting, front and rear centre armrest, ventilated front seats, driver’s seat memory, heated front seats, leatherette upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, paddle shifters and more.
The safety package is likely to include multiple airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic child lock, ABS with EBD, Isofix child-seat mounts, traction control system, electronic stability control, rollover mitigation system, hill hold and descent control, a 360-degree surround view camera, rear view monitoring and Level 2 ADAS.
Similar to the Jetour T2, the JSW Combat is expected to be offered with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with an 18.4kWh battery pack and two electric motors driving the front wheels. The plugh-in hybrid powertrain will deliver a combined power output of up to 360bhp and 610Nm of torque. The SUV offers an electric-only range of 90km and a combined range of up to 1,100km with a full fuel tank and a fully charged battery.
