JSW Combat PHEV: Jetour T2 Spied Testing Ahead of Diwali Launch
Combat PHEV launch this Diwali 2026 It will be based on Jetour T2 PHEV Offers 1200km of range
JSW Motors has officially announced to launch its first vehicle as an independent automotive player this Diwali. The first model will be an all-new SUV based on the Jetour T2 on sale in select international markets. Rumoured to be called the JSW Combat, the SUV will share the design, features and a plug-in hybrid powertrain with the global-spec model. The SUV has been spotted testing again, revealing its final design and interiors.
JSW Combat or Jetour T2 Design Details
The front fascia of the SUV looks largely identical to the Jetour T2, featuring a five-slat grille, rectangular LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights and LED fog lamps. The SUV gets a squared-off front fascia with a flat bonnet and a pronounced lower bumper. From the sides, the Combat has a boxy silhouette, large ORVMs, flared wheel arches and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The SUV gets tall roof rails and side steps that adds to its rugged road presence. It also features the traditional pull-type door handles. At the back, the JSW Combat features a vertically mounted slim LED tail-lamps and a chunky bumper that adds to its rugged profile. Also on offer is a squared-off tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Interiors and Features
The JSW Combat cabin layout will also be similar to the international-spec Jetour T2. It comes with a large central infotainment unit dominating the dashboard, and slim AC vents. The rugged character is visible from the central console that has a tough appearance with exposed screws and the crystal-like gear shifter. It has an all-black interior scheme with contrasting red stitching.
The Jetour T2 will come with a comprehensive ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) suite with the camera placed on the front windshield. The spotted model also has a warning sticker at the rear for the automatic emergency braking (AEB) feature. It is packed with a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the 10.25-inch digital instrument console, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, customisable drive modes and a 360-degree surround view camera.
Engine Specifications
The global-spec model is offered with both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. The Combat will be powered by a 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine coupled to two electric motors and an 18.4 kWh battery pack. This AWD version produces 360hp of power and 610Nm of torque, paired to a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. The front-wheel-drive model offers a combined power and torque output of 156 hp and 220 Nm, respectively.
The plug-in hybrid SUV offers an all-electric range of up to 90 km (NEDC) and a combined range of around 1200km. Using a 50 kW DC fast charger, the battery can achieve 30% to 80% charging status in around 27 minutes. On the other hand, the battery can fully charge using a 6.6 kW AC charger in 3 hours.
