New Toyota Electric SUV Launching in the First Quarter of 2026 - Urban Cruiser EV

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV launching in Q1, 2026 49kWh and 61kWh battery options Expect a certified range of over 500km

Maruti Suzuki will launch the long-awaited e Vitara electric SUV in the country in January 2026. Toyota will also launch its Urban Cruiser EV, which is the re-badged version of the electric Vitara. This electric SUV will go on sale in the first quarter of 2026, most probably around February-March. The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is expected to be produced at Suzuki’s Gujarat factory.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV - Key Details

The new Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is a 4.3 meters long SUV, which is similar to the e Vitara, and has a wheelbase of 2700mm. The electric SUV will be offered with two battery choices - a 49kWh and 61kWh. Both will come with a front-axle-mounted electric motor, and the higher-spec model will offer a claimed range of up to 543km on a single charge.

The biggest difference between the two electric SUVs is a new front design and Toyota badging. This SUV will be equipped with features like a twin-spoke steering wheel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display, a 360-degree surround view camera and LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.

Competition & Estimated Price

It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV. The electric SUV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 18 lakh to Rs 24 lakh, ex-showroom.
