Tata Motors has been betting big on its EVs and SUVs for a couple of years. At the 2023 Auto Expo, the company showcased the Harrier EV and the Sierra EV which were the showstoppers.
Tata Sierra EV is one of the most awaited models in the country and the company has patented its design before the start of testing and production. The patent images leaked online reveal a lot of details about the SUV.
In terms of exterior design, the patented design stays rather similar to the concept showcased at the Auto Expo. The Tata Sierra SUV retains the upright nose but features new distinct lines that separate the front bumper and the faux skid plate. While the grille design is not evident on the patent image, we can expect the ICE models to get a Safari-inspired grille while the EV will make do with a large blank plastic with a digital Tata logo. Similar to the recent Tata models, the Sierra will also feature an LED-connected light bar at the front along with a silver skid plate at the bottom.
Moving to the sides, we get to see the rectangular wheel arches carried from the concept vehicle along with new creases and thicker body cladding on the rear doors. While most of the design remains identical, what seems to have changed is the glass housing behind the rear door. The patent images do not reveal the rear design of the SUV, but we expect the new model to feature a connected LED brake light bar along with vertically stacked LED tail lamps.
While the interior and powertrain details are still under wraps, we can expect more details to be revealed as we near the launch date in 2025. Like the Curvv SUV, we can expect the EV models of the Sierra to be launched first followed by the ICE models.
