Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Tata Sierra 2025, and it will come with two new petrol engine options. The most notable of these is the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, which is expected to offer a good mix of fuel efficiency and performance. The Sierra will be available in both petrol and turbo-petrol options, and Tata is aiming to keep the price competitive!

The new 1.5-litre NA petrol engine will be a key feature in the Tata Sierra 2025. This engine is expected to deliver around 120hp and 140Nm of torque. It will be available in the base variants of the Sierra, ensuring that it remains affordable for customers looking for a practical SUV. The 1.5-litre NA engine is simpler than the turbo-petrol engine, which helps keep costs down and makes the vehicle more affordable.
The NA engine shares its architecture with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, but without the turbocharger, making it less expensive to produce while still offering solid performance. This will help Tata keep the Sierra price competitive in the market.

The 1.5-litre NA petrol engine in the Tata Sierra will offer about 120hp and 140Nm of torque, which is similar to the engines found in other popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. These engines are known for their good balance of power and fuel efficiency.
The engine will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. Tata is also focusing on reducing NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels in the Sierra, which will make the ride more comfortable for passengers. The engine will also be compatible with E20 fuel, meaning it can run on ethanol-blended fuel, supporting India’s move toward more sustainable fuel options.

In addition to the 1.5-litre NA engine, the Tata Sierra will also be available with a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine will produce about 170hp and 280Nm of torque, making it a good choice for those who want more performance. It will be offered in the higher variants of the Sierra.
The turbo-petrol engine will also be used in other Tata SUVs, including the Harrier and Safari, and will be Tata’s flagship petrol engine.

Tata Sierra is expected to be priced competitively, especially in the base variants with the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine. By offering an affordable petrol engine option, Tata Motors hopes to compete with popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which also offer similar-sized engines.
