The Indian electric vehicle market is gearing up for an exciting month, with several upcoming electric cars in September 2025 set to hit the roads. Buyers can expect a variety of small and premium electric SUVs packed with features from both international and domestic brands.
The most talked-about models include VinFast’s VF6 and VF7, Volvo’s affordable EX30, and Hyundai’s refreshed Ioniq 5. While most models are on schedule, the Suzuki e Vitara launch has been delayed due to production challenges, keeping fans waiting a little longer.
Here’s a closer look at the upcoming electric cars in India September 2025:
VinFast is all set to launch its first two electric SUVs in India - VF6 and VF7. The compact VF6 is designed for city driving, while the larger VF7 offers a premium experience with advanced features. Both models will be assembled at VinFast’s new plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Pre-bookings are already open, and launches are expected in mid-to-late September 2025. These models are among the most exciting upcoming electric cars in September 2025 for Indian buyers.

Volvo’s EX30, the brand’s most affordable electric SUV, is expected to launch in India this September. It comes with a 69 kWh battery delivering a range of 480 km (WLTP cycle) and supports fast charging in just 25 minutes. Volvo also offers an 8-year standard warranty on the electric powertrain, giving buyers peace of mind. The EX30 will compete with models like BMW iX1 LWB and Hyundai Ioniq 5, making it one of the most attractive upcoming electric cars in India 2025.
Hyundai is refreshing its popular Ioniq 5 electric SUV with sharper styling and enhanced features. The facelifted Ioniq 5 continues to offer a strong range of 515 km (ARAI-claimed). Pricing is expected to cross Rs 46 lakh, targeting premium buyers looking for a combination of technology, style, and performance. This facelifted model is another key entry in the list of upcoming electric cars for September 2025.
The highly anticipated Suzuki e-Vitara was previously expected to launch in September 2025. However, production delays due to a shortage of key components have pushed its launch further, likely toward the end of the financial year. Meanwhile, the brand has confirmed to launch the Maruti Escudo on September 3, 2025.
