Upcoming Cars in September 2025 - Maruti Escudo to Mahindra Thar Facelift

The Indian automotive scene is set to witness an exciting line-up of new car launches in September 2025. We will see the launch of the Maruti e-Vitara, Maruti Escudo, Mahindra Thar Facelift, and more. Electric cars are also making their mark with models like the VinFast VF6, Volvo EX30, and Mahindra XUV 3XO.

Here’s a list of top car launches in September 2025:

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara

Maruti Suzuki will make a major move into the electric vehicle segment with the launch of its e-Vitara on September 3, 2025. Previously known as the Maruti Suzuki eVX, this electric SUV has been designed to impress with its premium interiors, a twin-screen setup, and Level-2 ADAS (autonomous driving assistance). With two battery options offering a range of up to 500 km, the Maruti e-Vitara aims to compete in the growing electric vehicle market in India.

Maruti Escudo (Victoris)

Alongside the e-Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Escudo, also known as Maruti Victoris, will be launched on September 3, 2025. This 5-seater SUV will target the mid-size SUV segment and is expected to offer high-tech features, including the Level-2 ADAS. Powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a hybrid petrol variant, and even a CNG option, the Maruti Escudo is expected to be priced between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). The Maruti Suzuki Escudo will be available at the brand’s Arena showrooms.

Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift

Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift is expected to launch in September 2025. The new model will feature cosmetic updates, including a revised front grille, round LED headlamps, and newly styled alloy wheels. Inside, the facelifted Thar will offer a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additional features like ADAS, a larger digital driver’s display, and a Dolby Atmos sound system could make it an even more appealing lifestyle SUV.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

In line with the growing EV market, Mahindra will launch the XUV 3XO EV in September 2025. The electric version of the XUV 3XO will replace the XUV400 in the company’s lineup. With a 34.5 kWh battery offering a range of 359 km and a 39.4 kWh battery providing 456 km, the XUV 3XO EV will cater to tech-savvy and eco-conscious buyers.

VinFast VF6 and VF7

VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle maker, is all set to enter the Indian market with two new electric SUVs: the VF6 and VF7. These electric SUVs are expected to launch in mid-to-late September 2025. The VF6 will be a more compact option, while the VF7 will offer a premium experience. The vehicles will be assembled at VinFast's new plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, and pre-bookings for both models are already open.

Citroen Basalt X

Citroen has teased the launch of its Basalt X, a new coupe SUV variant. Slated to launch next month, this SUV will feature a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and is expected to be positioned above the standard Basalt. Pre-bookings for the Basalt X have already begun with a token amount of Rs 11,000. With an improved feature list, including keyless entry, 360-degree camera, and new upholstery, this SUV will offer a perfect blend of style and performance.

Volvo EX30

The Swedish automaker will launch its EX30 in late September 2025 in India. The Volvo EX30 will be available in a top-spec rear-wheel-drive variant and will be powered by a 69 kWh battery pack. Expected to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 45 lakh, the EX30 is likely to draw interest from those seeking a compact yet premium electric SUV.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 Facelift

Hyundai’s iconic electric vehicle, the IONIQ 5, will receive a facelift in September 2025. With enhanced visual updates and a sportier look, this electric SUV will continue to offer a range of 515 km (ARAI-claimed). The IONIQ 5 facelift will be priced at a premium, likely above the current model's Rs 46 lakh price tag, and is expected to attract a new wave of electric car buyers.
