The new MPV brings in the brand's new platform, more tech and feature-loaded cabin. Moreover, the Toyota Innova Hycross comes with a hybrid technology that is appreciated by most of its customers.
The Hycross is the first Innova to be designed and developed on a front-wheel-drive monocoque architecture. The cabin comes with premium ambience and is a huge step-up in terms of comfort level. The MPV also incorporates several high-end tech and innovative features.
In this article, we talk about top 10 key facts about the Toyota Innova Hycross that you should know.
The Innova Crysta is designed and developed on the ladder-frame chassis that also underpins the Fortuner SUV. The Innova Hycross brings in the brand's new global TNGA-C modular platform that also underpins the global-spec Corolla Cross SUV.
Instead of the RWD layout, the new Hycross MPV has a front-wheel drive (FWD) setup that helps in offering a good driving experience especially in urban environments. A monocoque chassis based model offers better handling and driving experience compared to the ladder-on-frame models.

The Toyota Innova Hycross is available with two engine options - a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a TNGA, 2.0-litre petrol-hybrid unit. There is no diesel engine on offer. The company is offering diesel powered Innova Crysta, which is hugely popular among rural buyers and fleet operators.
The 2.0L NA petrol engine produces 171bhp and 205Nm of torque, and is coupled to a CVT gearbox. The hybrid powertrain comprises a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, a battery pack and an electric motor. This combination offers a combined power output of 183bhp and is paired to an e-CVT gearbox.

The front is dominated by a large hexagonal grille with chrome surrounds, flanked by wraparound LED headlamps. The side profile looks in-sync with a cab-forward MPV design, featuring a large glasshouse to offer airy feel for all three rows. At the back, the new Innova Hycross has a roof-mounted spoiler, a blacked-out rear bumper and newly styled LED tail-lights
The new Innova Hycross is 4,755mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,795mm tall. Compared to the Crysta, the new Hycross is 20mm longer and 20mm wide. The MPV has a wheelbase of 2850mm, which is again 100mm more than the Crysta. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, while the ground clearance stands at 185mm.
