Following on from the successful launch of the new Kia Seltos, KIA India is all set to launch the facelifted Kia Sonet in the country. First launched in 2020, the updated version of Sonet is expected to launch sometime in 2024. Ahead of its arrival, the SUV has been seen testing multiple times on roads. Since some of its exterior and interior details have been revealed, the Korean automaker seems to offer an abundance of cutting-edge tech features on its facelifted Sonet.

The new Sonet will now boast a larger touchscreen system featuring updated UI, seamless smartphone integration, a full-colour digital instrument cluster, revised HVAC control buttons in a single row, and enhanced connectivity features. Rest, it will continue to offer its comprehensive features which include a 10.2-inch touchscreen, ventilated seats, a Bose sound system, air purifier, and a sunroof.

KIA Sonet Facelift: Cheapest KIA Model to Offer ADAS

The most notable upgrade on the facelifted Sonet is the inclusion of the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This will include features such as Forward-Collision Warning, Lane-Keeping Assist, Forward-Collision Avoidance, Lane Following Assist, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning, and more. It is said that the six airbags could also come equipped as standard.

KIA Sonet Facelift: Same Powertrain Options

In terms of performance, the upcoming KIA Sonet facelift is likely to continue with the same engine options. The SUV will come equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol (83 bhp), a 1.0-litre TGDi turbo petrol mill (120 bhp), and a 1.5-litre diesel unit (116 bhp). Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AT, 6-speed iMT, and 7-speed DCT.

KIA Sonet Facelift: Launch and Rival

As per the media reports, Kia is seeking to launch Sonet facelift by early 2024. However, there is no official statement. Once launched, the SUV will rival the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XV300, and Hyundai Venue.
