Mahindra, the homegrown utility vehicle manufacturer, revealed its ScorpioN-based Pik Up concept - Global Pik Up at a special event in South Africa. The concept previews the brand's future lifestyle pick-up truck, which will target both domestic as well as global markets. Despite being developed on the ScorpioN SUV, this new Global Pik Up concept comes with unique styling elements.
The new Mahindra Pickup truck is poised to rival established models such as Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross. In this article, we compared the Mahindra Scorpio N Pik Up with Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross in terms of performance, safety, technology and more.

The Scorpio N Pik Up will come with several advanced tech features, which could give it a competitive advantage over the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross. The pick up concept coms with 5G connectivity, semi-automatic parking, dual screens for infotainment and digital instrument cluster, and an electric sunroof among others.
The Hilux comes fitted with a large TFT multi-information display, cooled upper glove box, six speakers, heat rejection glass, a multi-functional steering wheel and more. On the flip side, the Isuzu V-Cross offers practical tech with focus on durability and terrain-specific controls. It is equipped with a passive entry & start system, automatic air conditioning with integrated controls & pollen filter, a second-row charging port and 3 USB ports.
The Mahindra Scorpio N Pik Up concept comes with several modern safety features such as Level-2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), multiple airbags, and drowsy driver detection. The ADAS tech will offer features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane assist and autonomous emergency braking.
On the other hand, the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross offers safety features like vehicle stability control with brake assist, hill assist control, anti-theft Arms, and Speed Auto Lock.
All three models come with versatile off-road capability and promise to offer confident 4x4 experiences to drivers. The Mahindra Global Pik Up comes with 4WD and shift-on-the-fly capability. It offers four drive modes - Normal, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Rut and Sand.
On the flip side, the Toyota Hilux pickup truck features a 4x4 system with Auto Limited Slip Differential. The Isuzu V-Cross, in contrast, showcases a Shift-on-the-fly 4WD system with high torque mode for improved traction on rough terrains.
The Scorpio N Global Pik Up will take some time before entering the production line and will mostly target the foreign markets where lifestyle pick-ups are in high demand. The company could price its Global Pik Up at around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Isuzu V-Cross is available in the price bracket of Rs 25.52 lakh to 30.96 lakh (ex-showroom). In comparison, the Toyota Hilux is positioned as a premium alternative to V-Cross. The pick-up is available at a starting price of Rs 30.40 lakh and goes up to Rs 37.90 lakh.
