Hyundai Cars to Get Added Safety Features

In September 2022, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways in India, Nitin Gadkari urged automakers to adopt global safety norms for cars sold in India. This is often done with the intention of improving road safety and aligning with international standards. Many automakers ensure to provide the best safety features in their car models to mitigate the risk of accidents and minimise the severity of injuries in case of a collision. According to recent updates, Hyundai Motor India updated its popular car models (the Venue, Creta, and the i20) with more safety features than ever before. However, this update does not enhance the build quality of the vehicle but ensures safety in case of an accident. These updated safety features introduced in Hyundai's new car models comply with the latest safety norms. As per the Government, all cars should come with 6 airbags as standard along with the 3-point seat belts to provide better safety. Most Notable Features in Hyundai Venue, Creta, i20, Alcazar Speaking of these new safety features, the three-pointer seatbelt and adjustable rear headrests have now become a standard feature in the brand's best-selling SUVs; Hyundai Venue and Hyundai Creta along with its premium hatchback, the Hyundai i20. In addition, the seatbelt reminder has also been introduced for both the front and rear seats in these car models. Hyundai Alcazar and Creta are now offered with 6 airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Rear Disc Brakes, Hill Start Assist Control, ISOFIX mounts, and Seatbelt Height Adjustment as standard. The Creta SUV is now offered with a 60:40 Split Rear Seat as standard. Other Notable Safety Features in Hyundai Cars Hyundai provides four airbags as standard across lower car models. These include the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, Aura and some variants of the i20. In addition, the Hyundai Tucson will offer at least 6 airbags as standard from now onwards. Meanwhile, Hyundai Venue, Hyundai i20, and its N Line variant now boast features such as Hill Hold Assist (HSA), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) as standard. Seeing these updates, the South Korean automaker hints that it will soon bring ADAS tech into car models that are below Verna. Read Also: Most Awaited Upcoming Hyundai SUVs in 2023

One of the striking components used in the New Verna is the large parametric grille up front. The front fascia also features split headlights and LED DRL setup. Another unique aspect to notice is that the long seamless LED DRL is extending from edge to edge, making the car look really stylish. The sharpness of the bumper also needs to be admired. Its flat bonnet has a subtle crease on each side. The striking character lines on the doors blend neatly with the flared wheel arches towards the rear. What makes the car stand out is its new fastback-like design detail for the rear quarter and the chrome trim underlining the glasshouse area. Although the rear of the New Verna has not been revealed, previously released teaser images indicate a full-width LED light bar and crystal-like inserts for tail lamps. 2023 Hyundai Verna: New vs Old - Interior Layout Hyundai has not released any interior sketches for the 6th-Gen Verna. However, it is likely to come with a large touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver’s display. The current model offers ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, wireless phone charging, and paddle shifters. For the New-Gen Verna, Hyundai will provide ADAS features including 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and more. 2023 Hyundai Verna: New vs Old - Powertrain Details With the new update, Hyundai Verna will drop the diesel engine option for the 2023 model. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated unit produces a maximum power output of 113 bhp with 144 Nm of torque while the New 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is expected to generate 157 bhp alongside 253 Nm torque. While the former will be paired to a 6-speed manual and CVT option, the latter might feature a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Both these petrol engines are compliant with RDE (Real-Driving Emissions) and E20 (20 Percent Ethanol and Petrol Blend). 2023 Hyundai Verna: New vs Old - Variants, Pricing, and Rivals The New-Gen Hyundai Verna will be available in four trims; EX, S, SX, and SX (O).
