India’s electric vehicle market is rapidly expanding and the next 6 months are going to be exciting for SUV lovers in India. Popular automakers like Mahindra, Tata, Toyota, and Maruti Suzuki will launch their new electric cars. Among the upcoming electric SUVs are the Mahindra XEV 9S Electric SUV and Tata Sierra EV, both of which are expected to bring new features, stylish designs, and powerful performance to the Indian market.
Let’s take a look at these upcoming electric SUVs in India:
If you’re looking for an electric SUV with power and style, the Mahindra XEV 9S is worth keeping an eye on. It’s launching on November 27, 2025, and will be Mahindra’s first 7-seater electric SUV. Built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, the XEV 9S will offer dual-motor all-wheel-drive, fast charging, and a range of high-tech features, including a panoramic sunroof, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), and sleek flush door handles.
The expected price range for this electric SUV is between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an affordable yet luxurious option for electric car buyers in India. The XEV 9S will definitely stand out in the growing electric SUV market.

Tata Motors is all set to bring back the iconic Tata Sierra with a modern update. The launch is scheduled for November 25, 2025, and it’s definitely something to look forward to. The new Tata Sierra 2025 will feature a bold, modern design with a mix of retro and futuristic elements. It will come with both petrol and diesel options, but the most exciting part is the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
Tata Sierra EV will be an all-electric version of this SUV, expected to offer a range of around 450-500 km on a single charge. It will come with a cool triple-screen setup inside, making it a high-tech option for anyone interested in a sustainable ride. The Sierra EV will compete with other electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta EV and the Mahindra BE.6, making it an important player in the electric vehicle market.
Although we’ll have to wait a bit longer for the Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV, it’s worth mentioning because it’s going to be another exciting addition to the electric SUV market. Set to launch in the first half of 2026, this electric SUV will be built on Suzuki’s e-HEARTECT platform. It will offer a range of up to 500 km on a single charge and will go head-to-head with models like the Mahindra BE.6 and Hyundai Creta Electric.
Maruti Suzuki is also jumping into the electric vehicle game with its first fully electric SUV - the e Vitara. It’s set to go on sale next month and will be available through Maruti’s premium Nexa dealerships. The e Vitara will offer two battery options, 49 kWh and 61 kWh, which will give it a decent range for daily driving. It’s expected to compete with electric vehicles like the Tata Nexon EV and the MG ZS EV.
