BMW has just launched the BMW iX3 2025, the first model to feature the brand’s new Neue Klasse design. This marks the beginning of a big change in the design of all BMW cars, both electric and petrol/diesel. The new design will be rolled out across BMW’s entire range over the next few years.

Neue Klasse design is BMW’s fresh new look. The design focuses on clean, simple lines, removing extra details and chrome. The most noticeable change is the smaller kidney grille. Instead of the large grilles seen in past BMWs, the Neue Klasse iX3 features a much smaller, sleeker version, making the car look more modern. This design is meant to appeal to BMW fans around the world, not just in specific markets.
The iX3’s grille is designed for SUVs, while sedans will get a wider, flatter version. This new design is more balanced and less flashy, focusing on simplicity and elegance.

BMW iX3 Neue Klasse is not just about looks; it also introduces exciting new technology. The iX3 comes with a 108.7 kWh battery and supports 800V fast charging, meaning it can charge up to 372 km in just 10 minutes. On normal charging, it takes about 21 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
The iX3’s dual-motor setup delivers 469 hp and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. With a range between 679 km and 805 km, the iX3 is perfect for long road trips without worrying about charging.
BMW has decided to change its design globally. The Neue Klasse iX3 is a shift away from the big kidney grilles that were popular in China and other markets. While these grilles were designed to look bold and catch attention, the Neue Klasse focuses on creating a design that appeals to everyone, no matter where they live.
“We want to create a design that feels familiar worldwide, not just tailored for one region,” said Adrian Van Hooydonk, BMW’s design chief. The new iX3 design takes inspiration from BMW’s older models, going back to the 1970s for a timeless look.

The Neue Klasse design won’t just appear in everyday models like the iX3. Even BMW M cars, known for their sporty looks, will feature this new design. While these cars will still have an aggressive, performance-focused appearance, they will follow the Neue Klasse rules of simplicity and elegance.
BMW is making sure that the M models will still stand out, but in a way that blends power and clean design.
New BMW iX3 2025 brings several new features alongside its design update. Its aerodynamic improvements make it more efficient, with a drag coefficient of 0.24Cd. This means the iX3 uses less energy to move, helping improve its range.

Inside, the iX3 offers a clean, minimalist layout with a large 17.9-inch touchscreen and voice control for most functions. There is also a Panoramic Vision system, which displays important information like battery life and driving modes right across the windshield.
For cargo, the iX3 offers a 520-liter boot, which expands to 1,750 liters with the back seats folded down. Plus, there is a 58-liter storage compartment under the bonnet for extra space.
The new technology in the Neue Klasse iX3 will not be limited to electric vehicles (EVs). BMW plans to bring these features, like the Panoramic Vision system and the ‘Heart of Joy’ computing system, to all of their models, including combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid vehicles.
BMW believes that introducing these technologies in all models will help customers get used to them more quickly, whether they choose an EV, hybrid, or petrol/diesel car. BMW is not separating the worlds of EVs and ICE cars; it’s bringing the best of both to all customers.
