Volkswagen Taigun facelift is finally on its way, bringing fresh styling and more features to the popular midsize SUV. First launched in India in September 2021, the Taigun is now set for a midlife update. The upcoming Taigun facelift is expected to debut by early 2026, with several cosmetic changes, premium features, and advanced safety tech to stay competitive in the SUV segment.

Volkswagen Taigun facelift India launch is likely to happen by the end of the current financial year, around March 2026. Spy shots confirm that testing has already begun, and the SUV will make its way to showrooms soon after the official reveal.

The facelift gets a redesigned grille, new bumper, and LED headlamps with DRLs for a bolder look. These upgrades bring the Taigun in line with Volkswagen’s latest global SUV design language.
At the back, the Volkswagen Taigun facelift will feature updated LED tail-lamps and a tweaked bumper, giving it a sportier appearance.
The SUV will ride on newly designed alloy wheels, further boosting its road presence.
Inside, the cabin will see more significant changes. Expect new upholstery, trim finishes, and updated colour themes for a premium feel.
The Volkswagen Taigun facelift will add features like a 360-degree camera and dual-zone climate control, boosting everyday practicality and convenience.
One of the biggest additions will be Level 2 ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, lane assist, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and auto high beam. These will improve safety and keep the SUV future-ready.
Front parking sensors are expected to be added, making city driving and tight parking spots much easier.
Mechanically, the Taigun will remain the same. It will continue to offer the 1.0-litre TSI petrol (115 hp, 6-speed MT/AT) and the 1.5-litre TSI petrol (150 hp, 6-speed MT/7-speed DSG). These engines are already known for performance and efficiency.
While the facelift keeps the current formula fresh, Volkswagen is already planning the next-gen Taigun, expected around 2027. The next version could be larger and may even introduce a three-row layout.
Alongside this update, Volkswagen also has several other launches lined up for 2025, including the Tiguan R, Golf GTI, Tayron SUV, and the facelifted ID.4 EV.
