Taigun facelift revealed in India Gets new features and 8-speed AT Prices to be announced soon
Volkswagen has officially revealed the updated Volkswagen Taigun in India.
This update brings changes across design, features, and powertrain to keep the SUV competitive in the mid-size segment. While the overall shape remains the same, the new model looks more modern and premium.

The new Taigun gets noticeable styling changes at the front and rear.
Up front, it now features an illuminated Volkswagen logo connected by a sleek LED light bar. This adds a premium touch, especially at night.
At the rear, the SUV gets a full-width LED tail lamp setup with sequential turn indicators. The bumper has been redesigned, and new glossy black alloy wheels give it a sportier look.
Volkswagen has also added new colour options like Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey, along with existing shades such as Wild Cherry Red, Candy White, Deep Black Pearl and Reflex Silver.

Volkswagen has expanded the Taigun’s lineup with multiple variants.
Buyers can now choose from options like Comfortline, Highline, Highline Plus, Topline, GT Line, GT Plus Chrome and GT Plus Sport.
This wider range gives customers more flexibility based on their budget and feature needs.
The updated Taigun gets several new features inside the cabin.
It now comes with a larger infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and improved connected car features.
The SUV also gets an AI-based ‘Hello Volkswagen’ voice assistant with navigation support and real-time updates.
Higher variants offer premium touches like new upholstery and enhanced interior finishes.

The Taigun continues with its existing turbo-petrol engines.
The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces around 115 PS and 178 Nm, while the 1.5-litre TSI delivers 150 PS and 250 Nm.
A key update is the introduction of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.0L engine, replacing the older unit. This should improve driving comfort and efficiency.
The 1.5L engine continues with the 7-speed DSG gearbox and retains its active cylinder technology.
Safety remains a strong point for the Taigun.
It continues to offer 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist and multi-collision braking.
The SUV also retains its 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupants.
Comfort features like climatronic AC, ventilated seats and rear wiper further enhance the driving experience.
The Taigun competes in a crowded segment with strong rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Tata Sierra.
With these updates, Volkswagen aims to strengthen the Taigun’s position in this highly competitive space.
