Clear old vs new comparison Gets more features and new gearbox Design changes are subtle but effective
Volkswagen has revealed the updated Volkswagen Taigun in India.
While the core DNA remains the same, the facelift brings multiple updates across design, features and gearbox. Here’s a clear old vs new comparison.
The older Taigun had a simple and clean front design with a regular grille and LED headlamps.
The facelifted version looks more premium. It now gets slimmer LED headlamps and a connected LED light bar across the grille. The Volkswagen logo is now illuminated, which adds a modern touch.
The bumper has also been redesigned with more stylish elements.

From the side, both versions look quite similar.
The overall silhouette, dimensions and body cladding remain unchanged in the facelift.
The key difference is the new alloy wheel design, which gives the updated model a fresher look.
The older model already had connected tail lamps, but the facelift improves on this.
The new Taigun gets slimmer LED tail lamps with sequential turn indicators and a revised bumper design.
The overall rear now looks cleaner and more modern.
Volkswagen has added two new colours in the facelift - Steel Grey and Avocado Pearl.
The older colour options like Candy White, Wild Cherry Red and Reflex Silver continue to be available.
The earlier Taigun had a simple and functional cabin with smaller screens and more hard plastics.
The facelift improves the overall feel with better materials, larger screens and updated upholstery.
A major upgrade is the addition of a panoramic sunroof, replacing the older single-pane unit.
The facelift adds several new features that were missing earlier.
These include a panoramic sunroof, rear seat massage function, ambient lighting and a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
It also gets an updated infotainment system with AI assistant and wireless connectivity.

Many features from the older model continue in the facelift.
These include ventilated front seats, cruise control, wireless charger and automatic climate control.
Safety features like 6 airbags, ESC and TPMS also remain unchanged.
The engine options remain the same in both models.
However, the facelift introduces a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0L engine, replacing the older 6-speed unit.
The 1.5L engine continues with the 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The older Taigun was priced from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
The facelift is expected to start from around Rs 10.60 lakh, with slight changes depending on variants.
Both old and new Taigun compete with SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Skoda Kushaq.
