The countdown has begun for the Volkswagen Taigun facelift. Ahead of its April 9, 2026 debut, Volkswagen has already started production, and the SUV is expected to go on sale by May 2026.

Here is everything we know so far about the new Taigun 2026:

Fresh Design Inspired by Global SUVs

The Taigun facelift brings a more modern look inspired by global models like the Volkswagen Tiguan.

It gets slimmer LED headlamps connected by a full-width light bar, along with an illuminated VW logo. The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned for a sharper appearance.

At the rear, the connected tail lamps remain but now feature updated lighting elements. The SUV also gets new 17-inch alloy wheels and fresh styling touches.

New Colour Options Revealed

The Taigun facelift will also get an updated colour palette.

A new Military Green shade is expected to be the highlight, as seen in recent production teasers. Another key addition is the Flash Red colour, which is likely to be offered on GT Line variants.

Along with these, existing colours like Candy White, Rising Blue Metallic and Carbon Steel Grey are expected to continue. Premium shades such as Deep Black Pearl and Lava Blue are also likely to be retained.

Interior Gets Feature Boost

Inside, Volkswagen is expected to add more features to make the Taigun more competitive.

The facelift may come with a larger digital instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system with AI-based features.

A panoramic sunroof is also likely, along with improved seat comfort and powered front seats. The AC system is expected to offer better cooling performance as well.

Safety and ADAS Expectations

Safety upgrades are also on the cards.

The Taigun facelift may get all-wheel disc brakes for improved stopping power.

Some reports suggest Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control and lane assist could be introduced, although availability may vary.

Engine and Gearbox Updates

The engine lineup is expected to remain the same, but there is one important change.

The 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine could get a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, replacing the older unit.

The 1.5-litre TSI engine is likely to continue with the 7-speed DSG transmission.

Expected Price in India

The Volkswagen Taigun facelift is expected to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom).

A slight increase in price is likely due to the added features and updates, with final prices expected to be announced at launch.
