Kia has officially revealed the Carens Clavis MPV, a heavily refreshed iteration of the popular Carens, ahead of its expected launch in June 2025. While both models will be sold alongside each other, there are numerous design, interior, and feature-based differences that distinguish the two.
Here's a complete comparison of the Kia Carens Clavis vs Kia Carens MPV, with highlights of what's new and what’s shared.

While both MPVs are equipped with key safety features like:
The Carens Clavis raising the bar with Level-2 ADAS, offering lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto emergency braking—features missing in the standard Carens.
Kia Carens Clavis and Carens MPV share the same engine options, including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.
The 1.5-litre NA petrol engine produces 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, and is available with a 6-speed manual transmission in both models. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, generating 157 bhp and 253 Nm, is available with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, and a 7-speed DCT in the Clavis. However, the Carens misses out on the 6-speed manual option for this engine.
Finally, the 1.5-litre diesel engine continues to deliver 113 bhpand 250 Nm, with both MPVs offering a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission for this powertrain.
If you're looking for modern styling, more tech, and enhanced safety, the Kia Carens Clavis clearly wins with its design upgrades and additional features.
However, the standard Carens continues to offer a great value-for-money proposition with proven practicality. So, the choice is yours!
